The AR nerf is really baffling. The top teams are doing nothing but bombing away with vickers (an unstoppable attack even in unskilled hands). You do nothing to thwart this attack yet take away one of the few useful tools for those still using mixed troop attacks. Makes no sense.
It is a little strange... normally they post release notes weeks in advance to bump up the hype for the new age. My only guess is that the release is either underwhelming in terms of new features, or it's buggy and they don't want to mention stuff that doesn't work yet.

I think the optimistic view is that somebody screwed up and pushed the wrong button. The pessimistic view is that this is a revenue-generating move in conjunction with the event (harder bases = more crowns spent on retrain = more $$).
It would be nice to get an official response.
