The wonder concept is great, but aesthetically speaking they often clash with civilization architecture. For example, I chose Acropolis in an age where my architecture is very generic, once I chose Japanese, the stone masonry of Acropolis and the Japanese WOODEN architecture is... odd, to say...
I can sympathize with their working conditions, but at least do what you say you'll do: it's painful to see my archers killed by enemy infantry one by one - the guys they're supposed to be good against - because they think it's better to die in vain than preserve themselves. That's just crap...
IIRC standard archers have 4 range, so Longbowmen should have 5 range and is capable of outmaneuvering towers. Just how useful is this trait late in the game? Do towers get increased range or are Britons destined to laugh at impotent towers?
The classic problem of risk vs reward, it's human nature to troll the weak because hey, that gets you to the top of the food chain baby. The core of the problem is the fact that you simply can't stay on top without getting harassed by other competent people, so you get out of the huge ocean and...
Does this mean that, should I choose Japanese, German, or Roman I should upgrade my unique unit the last in Medieval? I don't know the exact numbers, but Medieval standard troop has to be that much better than standard Classical troop that they're better than 81.3% better
I feel for you. I actually regret choosing Acropolis for my Japanese because the range is very short. I actually thought that wonders work at global range Forbidden City is one of the wonders that get completely left out, someone finally confirmed that it does nothing other than stalling Town...
The Chinese invented rockets before the rest of the world invented crystal meth. They may not be awesome at warfare but their warfare looks awesome as shit
I chose Japanese because I thought a TC that fights back is great and I just like the architecture. The extra peace treaty really helps when you need that extra time to generate some loot and upgrade However, the Japanese Town Center doesn't actually do much. It can only attack melee units...
Holy crap, there goes an actually good wonder for Oriental cultures. Ironically, Forbidden City is where the Emperor resides, thus the most powerful warriors the military can muster are stationed there and it usually boasts the strongest defense before Siege Engines were invented
