A couple easy questions:

1) What is the Cool Down period on the treaties? (I am still on my original one)

2) With my treaty about to expire I am planning the layout for best defense. I've read several good tips, but one question...can you be attacked from anywhere? As in I have a beach to the Southeast, uncleared forest to the southwest, forest with a path on the other side to the northeast and the northwest has the alliance gate and a mountain pass. Can I be attacked from all four sides, can troops just come out of the woods, down the pass or by water? Thanks

1. Depends on how hard you were wiped out. Full wipe-out is about 24hrs I think? Marginal is about 10ish?
2. Yes, no matter how much forrest you clear you can be attacked from all sides. There is always a thin layer of placeable land - even right up to the river. For this reason I've avoided clearing out to the river so that troops coming from the forest can come out of that side also.

Thanks. Now that I've started attacking/looting I've seen that.

What I meant with the first question is if you buy a treaty it is for a certain number of days and then there is a longer "Cooldown". For example a 5 Day Treaty also has a 3 Week Cooldown. I assume during the 5 days you can't attack or be attacked, but what is the relevance of the 3 weeks?

I was attacked by a lvl.29, I'm lvl.16 and I have got only 11 hrs. And why can an lvl.29 attack an lvl.16? This is not fair.

The 3 weeks is the time that must pass before you can use another treaty, this is to make it hard to be immune to attack for long periods of time.

It works both ways I have had players that are many levels above me as targets, I am not sure yet but level is not the only deciding factor in the selections the game offers you being at a high score when in a early age is easy I was at over 600 but when I scouted a few players at my score level they were mostly 1-2 ages above me so when I levelled up I got pounded. So rushing levelling up is bad as is climbing your score too high to quick, I am level 22 max going up to classical age. At around 400 the min for leagues you can throw a win or pick a hard target with lots of loot to hold your score in a range that suits you. But flying high just puts your name on a stronger list. Also not spending and managing your resources sensibly paints a target on you as well. If possible empty your coffers before logging off. This reduces your likelihood of big hitters hitting you. If you don't need resources don't fight to earn them or stay on until your builders are free so you spend them. Holding on to resources gets harder at higher levels as the amounts you need rise quickly so being at max defence is paramount. If you look a weak easy target you will get hit if you have lots of resources lying around. But untouched if you have none. So be one or the other.
