AI of attackers, attacking walls even though just next to them is a gap

So not only recently but occasionly i am whitnessing that my valuable troops attack walls even though there is a gap closeby made by other attackers. thats quite disappointing to watch.
2 scenarios

no. 1: e.g. Riflemen are attacking a wall to get to the next building, in the meantime other units of my attacking squad made it through but my riflemen keep on shooting the wall until they are through or if iam rallying them away.
no. 2. same scenario rilfemen: walking alonside a wall to get to the next building. But this time there is a gap made already. So when iam rallying my troops inside the wall close to the gap. the riflemen who walked outside the wall and who follow the rallying, now start attacking the closest wall, even though the gap is realy closeby. At the end iam having 2 gaps right next to each other and a lost attack.

This ai flaw is really messing up my attacks and pushes me to consider to make boring attacks by using miners and raiders only.

Yes, this flaw in the AI is terrible. It is both funny and aggravating to watch shooters peck away at multiple places while openings are next to them. They spend the whole battle doing that leaving a swiss cheese wall
