Hi all. When Atomic rush hits, I am planning on upgrading from the global age. I am hoping to gets some advice on what to prioritize for upgrades once I do.

At the moment, I have a max global missile silo, global AA defenses, bunker and fort, with all other defenses at Industrial level. I have completed all of Amelia and Selassie's research up to this point. I have completed all the offensive upgrades for Global age.

Once I upgrade, what should I focus on in the Atomic age? What makes the biggest difference? Thanks all.

Agree with you guys on offense first and finishing Amelia. I'm sitting in AA with all of my troops upgraded; barracks, factory, air strip. Slowly moving to upgrade defense. I'm sitting FULL of resources most of the time because the upgrades take so long. Too bad that they couldn't be transported to others in my alliance. I know this is a topic for a different thread, but I'm waiting for the CW rush.

Firstly Armory, for sure!
Airstrip, crowned.
War academy, crowned too.
Next barracks, factory, mercenary camp.
By the time armory had finished then I worked on barrack troops and oil based troops (fighters first).
Then embassy, cause I needed Ethiopians.

Basically, what you did with each of the other age advances. And anything to do with planes, naturally.

Armory/airstrip/merc camp, and defensively I would only say at least one bunker and silo because of the discount. While bunkers occasionally go on sale, the silo rarely goes on sale. While war academy is important for sure I wouldn’t call it a priority just yet because you don’t get more tactics, it just allows you to upgrade them and the armory needs to be upgraded first. Hopefully through university, you’ve upgraded the new leader to get war academy down to only require 3 citizens to upgrade.

Funny people are saying Amelia (Which I agree for sure but the research levels aren’t on sale because of rush event) and that requires you to also upgrade university so people need to add that as a priority. While I don’t like the idea of the museum affecting war, I honestly think the museum is a good thing to upgrade as it unlocks slots (Assuming you maxed to global). You get the jewelry for the MP side which hopefully you have a loot one ready but it’s more important to war because it unlocks 2 equipment slots which are the most important ones in war (My opinion).

What are the major game changers in atomic? Factory stuff?

biggest thing is Amelia.

and then there are tank destroyers at the merc camp, and the apc for people that dont go all-ht.

defensively, the decoy trap can screw up a targeted attack.

optional game changers: helicopters and bazookas

Agree with the rest when it comes to oil upgrades, but quite surprised no one mentiones wall upgrades.
They are quite good (~+8.500HP) and half the price during the event (3.6M), making them a bargain (assuming you maxed them to global age).

I think the biggest immediate impact "now" would be the tank destroyers as it really helps in this silo rich environment. If you're not really going against silo bases even in MP than I wouldn't recommend destroyers just yet as the cider req makes it hard to use even in normal raiding. Things like field howis/ranged shooters/wall breachers/ etc will be done no matter what so I wouldn't really put one over the other and it really depends on your nation as you didn't mention it. Honestly I would say start working on upgrading planes right away. I agree that planes are a definite priority as well but I wouldn't say Amelia is number one because it really depends on your style of game play. Casual players have a really difficult time with this one. It's a really oil heavy tree to go down and not everyone raids enough to have research running non stop nor is the research on sale so it requires a lot. If you're not crowning buildings than you will need those required citizens to build other things like armory, airstrip, barracks, merc camp, and of course university just to unlock amelia's next tiers.
