Changes in war balance/power?

I’m not sure how to address this. I was in the hospital for 2 months and my alliance goes to war 2x a week. When I started playing this weekend I noticed a significant change in that the defenses of bases we should have easily defeated are somehow giving up only 1-2 stars and in some cases nothing. I made an attack yesterday against a city which was setup with a small wall surrounding the TC and a larger wall surrounding the rest of the major defensive structures. No missile silo. We are both Atomic War lvl. Two months ago I would have rolled over that in less than 2 minutes and got 5 stars. I only was able to pull out 2 stars using all my assets. My entire alliance is experiencing similarly frustrating results. Anyone having similar problems or have a solution?

In case you missed it, the game has gone through a MAJOR and much discussed rebalance:
https://forum.nexonm.com/forum/nexo...n-aa/633135-design-spotlight-combat-rebalance

I can't think of anything else that could cause what you describe. The war museum was also added, but I think it was a relatively small bump on top of the major impacts of the rebalance.

How did you find a warring cold war age player without a missile silo? Can't even remember the last time I saw an atomic player without one in a war.

Yemen, I apologize we are both atomic. I just made the corrections. That is what I mean. The re-boot had already been made before I was gone. This is new. I will keep playing but I have no idea. When I came back the entire team was complaining about it and I thought they were crazy. 🤦🏻‍♂️Not sure if the museum is that significant but the “war museum” didn’t exist when I went into the hospital

Yemen is right, the ‘rebalance’ has made bases tougher to beat. Granted a similar level base like the one you attacked should’ve gotten you more than 2 stars but it’s hard to know what museum or Uni research he had.
Welcome to a brave cruel world.

War hall matters I guess, if they have Legendary, but I haven't seen Legendary artifacts with defense boosts?

Just saw the same thing in a regular battle (not a war) Both are Cold War players. Team Donate Destroy player Meursalts, he has no missile silo, no decent walls and catapults instead of high level mortars. Our guy only gets 3 stars? Player meursalts is 25 levels below our player? SMFH

Did your friend use troop cards, maybe tactics as well.?
This is what's needed now against CW bases and Nexon is hoping people will crown an instant retrain, if the video is not available.
The 'rebalance' is all about revenue generation. Why else would there be different stats for defending troops vs attacking troops? Why else would they increase building stats a lot and attacking stats a little?

Stages 3&4 were the really killer stages of the rebalance, and those were late october. So if you were around after those, I don't know what to tell you. Nothing has really changed since then but the war museum.

Mortars matter far less than they used to. High level tank depots with saladin + decent air defenses can result in absolute murder even if other defenses aren't that great. And if that stacked with pay to win artifacts as well, you never know.

If you or your teammates are still using barracks troops, start transitioning to factory. At this point, those uniformly stink across the board for atomic and cold war players.

Attacking cold war bases in war basically requires good factory troops, planes, and decent troop tactics these days. I have a maxed offense except for a few generals, and I can't guarantee a 5* against a 240+ CWA war base with loaded SHs no matter what I bring. Against 260+ with loaded SH, I'm aiming for 3 or 4 at best.

In MP, I regularly get full out attacks (dynasty league, base around 250). Some are trying to town center snipe, some to all out crush. Either way, 1* is the most common outcome unless they throw in generals, mercenaries and troop cards on top of their full army. Attacking is hard now.

I actually was in the hospital and missed updates from late October through January 1 and there were HUGE changes in the game. I’ve been playing almost four years and these modifications are moving faster than I’ve ever seen before.

Devs definitely did some tweaking for the latest update. Now you need to use troop tactics to get a 4/5 star on high lvl CWs. You wanted "balance". Well, you've got your wish. My clairvoyant cum witchdoctor always has this advice for me. "Be careful what you wish for.." TH~

Big T looks like those that aren't rushing there bases get rewarded by the new match making system, and rebalancing. I'm the leader of a small alliance that have bin facing defeat after defeat before the new matchmaking system was implemented.
we're not fighting for glory just for victory and where managing well.
Those we have a hard time with are those that did do all there upgrades.
I'm industrial age and allmost maxed and see atomics fail on my base because they didn't adapt and did the research.
Think nexon is moving us to maxed bases. And for now I'm happy my alliance didn't rush. 😏

Devs should never listen to elitists. They were ones causing these changes, asked too much, whine too much, never cared that the lessers had equal rights to enjoy the game also 😔
Average skill players don't need to think about tactics, strategies here and there, all they need is copying from the tacticians. But if the game keeps changing here and there, it would be hard to adapt.

I think change is good, but the problem is that when you change a game too much it no longer resembles the game that you invested years into. It's like a Ship of Theseus(refrence for Bloody rip). I keep playing because I like the challenge, but there has to be a balance between getting smooshed every time you log off and never being attacked because right now MP is a ghost town.

I also hover between gold and kingdom, and will sometimes go days without attacks. I usually wont start seeing steady inbounds until i have 200k oil and sometimes not even then. My base is rushedatomic base, most of my defenses are still industrial. I dont see a point in upgrading if I never get attacked
