Fix the multiplayer attack mechanics before it is too late

I don't know how many times it's been listed on here but disconnecting during an attack should not mean that you lose all troops and remaining loot. The troops should just continue to attack if the player's application closes.

Today I had a new bug where I deployed my full army, about 30 seconds into the attack the game freezes for 2 seconds then goes straight to the defeat screen (losing all troops and remaining loot).
I then told my alliance members about this and they all said it is fairly common.

I don't understand why this has not been addressed properly. Players who frequently raid are the lifeblood of these games, I don't want to guess how many players have quit or are thinking of quitting due to this 'auto-lose' mechanic every time the program has a hiccup or connection loss.

I think is too late already, 3 to 4 weeks ago my alliance chat was alive with all kind of issues and troop requests, now is empty seems everybody stop playing. I personally got tired of the unbelievable amount of bugs just like what happened in orcs vs humans so I left my nation in lv 54 and I'm going back to Clash of Clans.

I wonder if it would be something to do with the attacked player coming back online. You know how when you attack a player and you get the "player is online" message - I wonder if someone coming back online when you are part way through attacking them causes this sort of failure??

I agree - it is very frustrating the bugs. I have not played CoC, but it's been in the back of my mind I have to say.

Either way, if you get a crash Hyperion is right - it needs to fail correctly, returning troops and loot already gained... or at the worst case just returns the troops with no loot - that way there is no net gain or loss.

Returning troops from a disconnect could be exploited (players hard-disconnecting if they start losing a battle).

Clash of clans fixes this problem the right way.
If you disconnect in clash of clans, your troops will just continue to attack (until the battle timer is up).

I just don't understand why this was not implemented from the beginning, it's the number 1 cause of player's quitting (at least in the large alliance I am in (Top 100 alliance))

Good point about players exploiting by disconnecting in battle. Makes sense.

That does sound like a good way to resolve it, continuing the battle programmatically till it's completed.

I am constantly growing more and more frustrated with this issue.
I have purchased crowns for this game and all, so quitting seems like a waste of money.
I think that all users should be compensated and that they need to keep users update more frequently about
a) what they are working on
b) current issues and ways around it - so that we at least have some warning

Yes the community manager has not commented on any of the threads relating to this issue yet.
I'm eagerly awaiting their response on the issue... but it appears to be a very slow process

Hey, all! Your frustrations are completely understandable and I apologize that I'm not yet able to provide an immediate fix. Of course, I've been sharing all of your feedback with the team and they're doing their best to continually improve the game, however, sometimes the root cause for these issues ends up being more complicated than expected. Look forward to the next major update that's scheduled for release in a few weeks though because I know there are a lot of bug fixes going into that one.

I am almost done with this game.
Crashing whilst attacking is an issue that you fix IMMEDIATELY. I consider myself a fairly patient person so I can't imagine how many people have quit this game already.

It does not matter if you can not find the root cause for the crash bug. Simple read one of the many many suggestions on this forum and change the game mechanics so that a crash does not mean you lose all your troops. If a player is disconnected during a battle, the battle continues without any more input from the player (unless that player reconnects before the battle timer is up). This is the same mechanic that is in all the other freemium strategy games (such as Clash of Clans).
This would be the #1 issue why players quiting the game. It absolutely baffles me why it is not worked on immediately. It only gets worse as your base levels up, troops cost more and take up to 45 minutes to make an army, then you go to attack... steal resources and are about to win... game crashes... reload the game and the battle has enabled the stupid auto-defeat mechanic and all your troops are gone with no loot. This happens DAILY, whether playing from an iPad, iPhone6 or Galaxy

Just want to mention that since the recent patch I have not experienced crashing during battles. Anybody else still crashing?

Same here, as soon i start the 2nd or 3rd raid after paying the 200 coins game crashes. Fortunately before actually raid starts, however also sometimes after raid started. When this happens its a loss. Still think this is not the biggest problem, not the ability to sell/destroy buildings, start a new nation and the ridiculous freemium grind are the biggest problem of this game.

In the iron age the grind is starting, people then would realise that they wanted to do things different, however not possible.. People will grind something further and then probally give up....

Apart from the ridiculous freemium grind this game is by far the best mobile game in this genre, and "when done right" can compete with the better stratey pc games
