Generals need a boost against heavy tanks

speaking about "players want to see their time/resouce investment in generals come to use"
i really hate to see my lvl 32 napoleon dies miserably to a HT popping out from a factory
it's really unlogic, Heavy tanks kill generals in no time, few shots and boom ur mighty general get flattened to the ground, sometimes my general dies even before my fighters save him from heavy tanks, he doesn't even make any noticeable damage in their HP

I think this is fair. Which other defender can actually make an attacker fearful of deploying generals.

Given that HT required 24 troop space, it is fair for a HT to kill a general easily

Imagine that there are 3 generals spawn from castle (it will always happen in 5.8), and easily kill troops with size 72 , how do you think?

Currently, a high level general got more than 40K and almost 1K dps, it is good enough.

it doesn't make me fear of deploying generals, it's just annoying how a single hit from HT during using my general to clear leftovers can put him in 6hr + cooldown
i find myself using my 3 most upgraded generals in wars only and leave the lvl 10 ones for MP

i mean vs defender HT not attacker HT, i agree attack HT should be stronger

in this case attacker's HT are valiable, but defender can have like 4 HTs for granted which are quite many

I think it is not about HT, but more about the over buffed defense

HT Spawn from Bunker / Factory is fine, if you are well prepared, but with Tanks, towers, SH troop and 777 coalition , it is too difficult to get a 5 stars victory.

2HT from factory , 2 Bunkers, 4 tank deposit, 5 garrison, it would be
24 * 1*2 + 24*1* 2 + 10 * 2 * 4 + 1* 4 * 5

It is easy spawn more than 200 troop size in defense side

Generals aren't really that useful in general TBH. They are pretty much one extra tank with little more dmg and health. I don't understand why they don't make generals more unique by giving nearby troops buffs or even special abilities.

yea that's why more players realizing that defenders are more important than mortars that we used to care about more
with the fighters (that should play the anti-defenders role) having stupid AI and die quickly to SAMs u can find 2 Max lvl tank depots with 1 Max lvl barbed wire disabling ur whole army

i suggested adding flying generals (in airplanes) for more diversity and usefulness and making each general unique in some way (as giving them active buff effect like healing nearby troops or boosting their speed/attack) cuz as u said they r just used as tanks, and they r even more important in defense with their machine gun company

I have a much bigger issue with defending heavy tanks making a beeline straight for my APCs, apparently the horde of infantry spewing out of them isn't enough of a distraction.

The CD on generals needs to be reduced greatly and they should be treated on defense like they are for war. your 3 best always fill your fort and respawn after their CD. Generals should have special abilities (single activation and time limit - not always active). All abilities should be AOE (like a 5 tile radius), attacking troop incoming damage reduction and heal, defending troop damage and attack speed reduction, disable defensive buildings and disarm all traps within radius, spawn 2-4 unique troops like flame throwers, call in an air bomber strike, call in 4 fighters that come in one each from all 4 sides of the map that target troops and defensive buildings only. All abilities should also heal the general for 25-40% of his life total.

There are so many other cool ideas i bet people could come up with, but as of right now generals are just boring and dont really add any strategy to the game.

Spawned troops first go for the closest target at the moment they spawn. So what most likely happens is that the HT came out, targeting your APC. Then the infantry came out from APC but HT's will still target the APC since there was no infantry at the time HT came out.

i agree to Kinfer, but i find HTs focusing more on howitzers and APCs no idea why

I don't mind that generals are ''just like tanks'', they allow me to NOT use tanks in my army and have a few other troops: more artillery, a few footmen, a few raiders instead. :)

I think these are the rules of the game, so maybe use a different unit to clear that factory...

Btw, I don't see generals as janitors, and those that use them as such... it's a waste.

Try upgrading them.

And, your tanks don't spawn from your castle on defense.

It's not necessarily an issue at the beginning of a battle because I don't drop next to factories usually. I've seen heavy tanks wade through my army to get my APC which is why it's annoying, it seems to prioritise attacking the APC over my tanks, infantry, shooters

Definitely they should be buffing your troops if they fall in the generals radious.
