Global Rush - what discounts should I prioritize before the event ends

Hello all,

First posting and any advice/insight is greatly appreciated and welcomed! Currently I play as Germans, Global Age - Level 155

Quick recap - Trying to take full advantage during Summer for the Ages and did the instant upgrade from IA to GA. During the discounted event my major upgrades were armory maxed level 9, medium tank researching 4 days away, my silo is 1 day away, and my factory level 4 just completed.

For this weekend only, as the Global rush event ends 8/5, what should I prioritize upgrading as I am nearing 100k oil saved at time of post.

Airstrip to level 3 - 210k discounted to 126k
Fort to Level 5 - 190k for 114k
Factory to Level 5 - 210 to 126k (probably too soon as i just upgraded to factory 4 but a nice discount)

Or should i use the oil to upgrade factory troops?
Heavy Machine Gun, HT MK3, Vet Commando, or Heavy Bazooka are all 40% off. Any preferences as to which to upgrade first or should I focus on either the Fort or Airstrip?

I will also likely be upgrading merc camp this weekend to level 9 as the 9m to 5.4m discount price is below my 7m max.

Im going crazy as to trying to take full advantage of these oil discounts before I have to upgrade my refinery to 160k. Thanks for reading/commenting and I look forward to communicating on the forum!

airport -> factory (again) -> then factory troops

Thanks for the advice pckrn & wrathchild_78. I had one bunker already built before the event as well as the +1 aviation research in the library. Are the paratroopers useful moving ahead in ages? Or is it about adding +1 troop capacity to 4?

Also I'm at Triplane Mk1 & Airship Mk1. Moving forward do you recommend upgrading aircraft or factory troops?

Every new airplane slot is game-changing, in global you move from maximum 3 to 4, while in atomic you move from 4 to 8 (3 from new airstrip, 1 from Amelia capstone). That is a huge change.

Paratroopers are quite situational, I have no experience with them yet so I will leave that answer to others. But generally fighters are more universally useful in my opinion.

For upgrading, I suggest 1 armory slot for fighters and 1 slot for your factory troops. Fighters take a little bit less time to upgrade per level but they are 6 levels per age, it is good to keep that going all the time as early as possible. They help so much. And the more hp they have, the less often you have to retrain them.

the +1 airspace is awesome in itself. but also i think you’ll find transport to be quite useful, especially since your fighters are still mid-industrial and the transport will be global level from start.
