Has anyone had any problems with generals needing to fully recharge after a battle?

I'm hoping its just a glitch because I didnt see any changes in the update notes, but today I sent my general out on "clean-up" duty to take out a few farms b4 the battle time expired and because I wasnt able to take out all defensive buildings, I knew my remaining troops would not be returning. The farms were on opposite sides of the remaining defenses so I knew my general wasnt in any danger. When I returned to my base, my general was on maximum recharge. Was just wondering if anyone else had this happen or did I miss anything in the update notes?

I thought you did lose a general if you deployed one but didn't take out all defences - same as other troops. Even if you do take out all defences and get returning troops, if the general gets a scratch, they need a nap. So what you describe sounds correct.

Unless today's update changed anything, I'm pretty sure the generals' cooldown was based only on damage taken during an attack. I sometimes like to deploy generals to take out an unguarded Forbidden City during TC raids because the generals return without any cooldown and it saves time retraining other troops.

I've had generals injured that needed a few minutes or hours to be ready for battle again but never had one that was uninjured needing 24 hours. I also had a 90% victory.

For some reason, I feel the cooldown time is longer after the update. Before the same same damage would need less than 1 hour, and now it's almost 20hours.

They wrote me back saying generals die if the defense is not destroyed but I've never had that happen until today.

I learned of this change the hard way as well. Now even less incentive to use generals. What a waste. The max timer should be 6 hrs, not 24 imho

Agreed, cool down time is too long. They really want us to use crown to speed up respawn time. Screw that

It would be nice if we had the option to still use the general even if he wasnt at full strength. A general at half strength is still as strong as most of the other troops. Besides, the other returning troops dont need regeneration. They should at least keep the general active at 50% or above. Anything less should render them inactive in my opinion. The player still has the option of waiting for them to strengthen, using crowns if they wish to have them at 100% or use them as is as long as its 50%.

Not a bug! I clarified in the patch notes as well, here is the info:

The time it takes for a General to become available is now dependent on destroying all Defensive buildings! If you fail to destroy all of your target's defensive buildings, your General will take 24 hours to respawn. If you DO destroy all of the buildings, your General will respawn faster based on his or her percentage of health remaining.

This is kind of ridiculous. So now with war, we are expected to attack twice in a 24 period. If you use 2 generals per attack, you lose 4 generals for 24 hours, leaving nothing left for regular gameplay. How is this any fun? Reduce the max general respawn time to 6 hours so we can at least use them and enjoy them! No fun at all to mess up on an attack and then be reminded of it for 24 hours! Generals are expensive to upgrade, and makes no sense to only be able to use them for a 3 minute attack once a day.

Before I would drop a general and quickly end the battle whenever I need to drop medals and now I can't do it. Guess I need to sacrifice a melee unit now :(

Yup pretty much, I dont even want to bring them out risking a 24 hours cooldown. ridiculous.

“Traps, defences, and Generals on a War Base never need to be reset during World War; they’re always ready for battle!” Found that in the FAQ, seems Generals will be reset. Anyone tried it?

This is complete garbage! It is just an underhanded attempt to extract crowns/money from us. I was going to buy more crowns today, but now they won't get another cent from me until this is put back the way it was. I used my general for 10 seconds, don't even get touched by defense and lose him for 24 hours or pay 50 crowns? Unacceptable!
