I've never been able to figure out a pattern to upgrade/research costs or the bonuses they provide. The only consistent pattern I noticed is that I will almost always be disappointed both by the price and the marginal benefit the upgrade gives. I mean... who decides that tripling the cost of a level 10 wall while giving it 5% more HP is just right for balance? And why does that someone later decide to reverse the trend with a level 15 wall?
How do you guys think Nexon comes up with these prices and bonuses? What's their magical process?
I have a few theories I was hoping to run by you:
How do you guys think Nexon comes up with these prices and bonuses? What's their magical process?
I have a few theories I was hoping to run by you:
- They use calculus and rocket science to derive complex formulas that we wouldn't understand.
- They base these numbers on accurate historical information for these units.
- Their quantum computer generates them, the inconsistencies are due to unpredictable spin of electrons.
- They spin a roulette wheel each time they come up with a new upgrade and use the numbers it gives them.
- Every Nexon employee comes up with their own preferred stats, they put them all in a hat, then someone draws the final stats from it.
- They have a groundhog, if he sees his shadow the unit stat bonus will be bad (5%), if he doesn't, then 30%.
- It's tied to US president's twitter account, the more outrageous his tweets are, the more favorable the stats - which is why recent unit boosts have been more generous (during Obama's administration the tweets were boring, hence the crappy stats). The missile silo was a direct result of President Trump's threats to North Korea.
- Other (please explain in your post).
