Just a few new features to improve quality of life in the game

Hello, I'm not a very seasoned player, in fact I guess you could say I'm rather new due to the fact that I'm only level 21 at the moment of making this post, however, there are already some things that I have noticed that I feel like would make this game much more enjoyable to play.

First off, I'd like to have some sort of an icon that would either hover over a building or some sort of marking indicating that the building is max level during the current age. This has been bothering me since I started to because I enjoy upgrading all of my buildings before I move on to the next age (If this is a smart or good strategy is besides the point, I still really want this :p)

Second, this honestly isn't a big deal I just felt like including it. I'd like for animals to display the timer above the health bar that comes up when you tell villagers/builders to hunt them (It would just add some clarity to this mechanic)

Thirdly, I'd like to have a building preview of the next building in the upgrade path, for example, if I'm about to upgrade a market from level 4 to 5 I'd like to see the level 5 upgraded look in the building picture. I'm sure you have gotten a lot of requests for this already, just felt like I might as well include it as well.

For the next suggestion I'm not sure if this already exists in some way due to me being new and what not, but here it goes

I get the fact that each player is supposedly their "own civilization" but that's not how I look at it. I see it more as each player is a town in whatever civilization that they chose to follow. With this mind set I feel like the idea of including some sort of "same civilization benefit" would be interesting. I was thinking something like the same civilizations are some sort of alliance/clan/guild in their own right. Some possible benefits of this could be they can send each other like one extra unit to reinforce their town, or even trade goods with each other (I stole the trade goods idea from another thread in the forums that I saw by Chocodonut)

Next, having a change civilization option would be very nice to have, I can even see a lot of ways for you to monetize this feature if you wanted to (please don't though ;)) This was brought to my attention by the thread started by David Pasquinel.

Finally, I'd very much like to see a notification or icon when my troop base is maxed. Granted you can figure out if it's full by if the buildings are done producing units and what not but this would just be another quality of life feature that would be VERY nice to have.

Over all I really like the direction this game is going in, I've been waiting for a game like this for ages. It brings me back to my Age of Empire 2 years. Keep up the great work and I hope that these suggestions are at the very least enough to bring them to your attention. I'm going to either edit this post with newer suggestions as I get farther into the game or just create a new thread, this isn't the last of me just yet :p

Please feel free to add on to this post with your own suggestions!

Thanks for reading,
~Aweful :)

I believe all these features have already been requested except for the first two. I would love to have some indicator that it is now max level for example change the color of the building or put a flag of your nation hanging on the building. Or they could create a separate part of the map editor that shows you every building with the levels and how many upgrades left to max current age, as well as the required resources to upgrade and also the amount of time for each upgrade and then a option to add it all up in one small pop up that shows total resources needed and time needed to upgrade to max current age.

Your second one is already incorporated into the game. if you look closely the timer only starts for each animal once the animal is killed. Before the animal is killed the timer to gather resources from it can not begin.

Yeah I noticed that the animals timers start as soon as you start hunting them, that's why I added the inclusion of a timer above the HP bar isn't really a big deal but I feel like it would just help for clarity for newer players and what not, I'm happy that you liked my first idea because it was my main thing I wanted to really talk about with this post.

Maybe the amount of time it takes to kill the animal is different each time so they can't include a timer above the head while the animal is still alive.

well if I were to press the info button next to the hunt button it shows a definitive timer. So i just assumed they were all the same. Either way it's not a big deal.
