Least Used Troops in the Game - Stats!

TinSoldier, please I need your help with this.

This post is really aimed at the game developers/programmers, but anyone could post their opinions if they want. However, I would really like to see some objective hard stats from the game programmers/devs on which troops are least used/popular in the game and, if possible, a break down of troop types used by age.

Why? Because I think it would be great to see more variety of troops types used in war and MP battles. Subjectively speaking, it seems to me that many of the more experienced or older players (Cold War to Space Age) are using a "meta" set of troops types: Bazookas, Heavy Tanks, Commandos, Fighters, etc.

A few years ago, when the game was newer, it seems the troop types used were more diverse. Now, with all the changes made in the gameplay, that is no longer the case. Atomic Age and higher players who want to be competitive in battle are hardly even using barracks troops anymore. Battles are almost looking like the same replay over and over. What is the incentive for some players to keep the unused troops up-to-date?

Take Commando/Saboteur, for example, players hardly (if ever) use to battle with them until their stats were boosted significantly and now they have become the "go-to" troop for many players. Wouldn't it be nice if all of the troops were equally "go-to" troops?


Also once the hard stats of least popular troops are compiled, would it be possible to have a week-long event where these troops are buffed/boosted 100 to 200% to see how it affects the gameplay? If the effect is positive, then the troops can retain their boosted stats so we can see more diversity in troops use.


TL;DR
1. Can we please get some hard stats on the least popular troops?
2. Also, a week-long event where the least popular troops are buffed?
3. Can we please keep them buffed, so we can see more variety in gameplay?

Every time period had it's "meta". In the beginning it was all cavalry until it was nerfed. The players cried out it pain, it was chaos. From the chaos a new meta emerged - balista shooter combo. This was the period of British dominance. Until the missile silo was introduced. It was chaos and tears. From the chaos a new "meta" emerged. For me, it was the heavy tank meta. For others, it was something else. Until the factory buff/grand rebalancing. Now it's the bazooka "meta". And still, I am attacked by a variety of troop comps in MPs. I do not war... for the time being.

Yes it makes sense for troop combos to change as you age up.
Like real life where technology improves and older products are not used in favour of improved weapons. eg: why use a musket rifle when you can use an assault rifle?

Lol at Commandos being the 'go-to' troops.

Not common, but used right very effective. A commando army is the only attack that has 5 starred my base in months. He/she dropped a couple of decoys next to my fort, city center and rocket arsenal, dropped generals and tank destroyer mercenaries far away to draw my heavy defenders out, killed them all with fighters, then 20 or so commandos just walked through my base destroying all the defensive buildings, fighters killing any troops that popped up. Some troop tactic armies cleaned up the other buildings.

I tried to use this method on a few friendly challenges, but I am so invested in heavy tanks (university resaerch/museum artifacts) my heart wasn't in it and I gave up.

This method works well without museum; although Sally Ride's commando 30% commando HP boost is extremely helpful. Fighter in museum should be enough, along with some bazooka museum. The key to this technique is getting the QV and 50% is usually easiest (using bazookas getting high HP buildings). Also each step is important (can't skip any). You can do it :)

I don’t know what definition of “go-to” he wants to lol at.

What is indisputable to me is that no offensive unit experienced a bigger buff from the re-balance than commandos.

They went from being oil-intensive troops (who would die due to a gust of wind) before the re-balance to THE go-to troop when you want to eviscerate an opponent’s defenses in 1 minute and spend 2 minutes cleaning up the defenseless leftovers.

using commando attack needs practice, skill and concentration. this is something which should be required for any attack. so ultimately nexon made commandos very meaningful and fun to play. its not like using RPG and AR(before fix) without any skill to take down a top base.

at present HRPG, Commandos, HT, MRL, Machine guns, Armoured cars are all powerful.
barrack troops are not so useful anymore.

I would love to see some Barrack troops buffed and allowed back in war. However with all the changes that Nexon has made and royally messed up I would say this is the least of the issues. Nexon needs to fix a lot of problems before "buffing" or "nerfing" any troops. It takes all I have just to continue playing the game now. A few issues I think should come first are listed below:

1. Warweight: why is a 320 SA at number 20 when a 240 CW is at 2?
2. War Matching: 18 SA against 3 SA
3. Cheaters: I find them everyday. If Nexon needs help Im free for 2-3 hours daily
4. Crash Bases: Im not going into this one. haha
5. Museum War Exhibit: I stopped spending money when I noticed certain Buffed exhibits are only for sale and not able to be crafted. This is totally pay to win.

I know I may sound like a cry baby but please get some of these items repaired before asking Nexon to "change" anything. I do not believe they know how to Multi-Task.

Also thank you to Tin for all the help in the community. You are truly a great advocate for us players!!!

solving 1 should solve 2. both looks interlinked. this should be a priority and i don't think it needs lot of development.
3 is a hard one for any game.
4. enough data is given to nexon and i hope they fix crashes soon.
5. museum has killed this game but also giving money to nexon so i don't think nexon will change anything in this

An example of a troop Needs improving is the mortar troop from barracks .increase its range from 5 to 6 and rate of fire .

Bombers have become useful and now nexon needs to improve the transport .the reload time needs to be decreased or decrease airspace to 2

currently you could take out entire towns with nothing but 2 fighters and 2 transports below Empire league.

I am 235 atomic and have a lot of fun with commandos.

Live in ~3250 dynasty. Prey on cold war bases up to 250 level. 5 star them on regular basis. This alone gives me 8k oil on each attack. My artifacts gives me x2 oil loot too. My best result is 27k from single attack (8000 + 9000x2 + minor dynasty oil reward).

Walls are maxed and have more oil then I can spend ever.

I'm more worried about Transport being nerfed than the reverse; so please don't touch Transport :)
