Loosing XP

Mysteriously, I lost XP today. I was at lvl 149 and then my Airship Mk3 upgrade finished pushing me to lvl 150. Few hours later, I noticed I'm back at lvl 149, and it seems at the same XP as before the Airship Mk3 upgrade.

Has anyone had this issue?

yup happened to me once. I remember I level up after an upgrade, but next time I log on, I was back down again. But doesn't matter to me, since level doesn't mean much.

Yeah, it's not a big deal as XP doesn't matter. It's just weird because this has probably happened 5 times to me already.

I haven't received XP for any of my blacksmith/armory upgrades in months. It didn't matter until I needed a couple of levels to get to Global Age when it came out. Asked Nexon CS... they told me they were aware of the issue and was working on it. I ended up upgrading one of my Roads level to get the XP.

By working on it they mean it could take a few months till it is resolved. Same with disappearing donation requests, that took months. I still don't know if it's fully resolved.

Just completed armory upgrade to Submachine gun, XP went up, then went back down like it never happened, but XP has been ill thought out and broken since day 1, so nothing new.

Yeah, it's not a big deal as XP doesn't matter.

I'm not convinced they don't use XP to help assign your position in war. Clearly... this bug would work in you favor then by pairing you up with an easier person. It's probably not that big a deal but does anybody know what else xp is good for? Other than just a way to assign ranking?

Highly doubt they use XP to assign war position. In wars, I rank above many others in my alliance who have 10-20 levels over me. This is because I have more defense and offense upgrades than these folks, since I typically don't upgrade economy (roads, farms, caravans) unless my villagers are bored. Clearly, some upgrades are worth more than others when assigning war rankings, there is a thread that discussed this in the forums

I have noticed that XP gained from Armory reasearch upgrades and clearing forest gets rolled back. If more people can confirm this, we may have something concrete to report as bug. My guess is, this has been happening for quite sometime and not many noticed or cared.

Is this reason why our levels dropped by 3 or 4 after an update few months back?

Lack of imagination I guess, all games have gold/coins, food, some novel trinket item you buy with real cash and some sort of level indicator to unlock things. Dummy's Guide To Game Design Chapter One.

I doubt XP is used in WW. Defence upgrades seem to count more than attack for some reason - economy upgrades aren't (or shouldn't) count at all.

I know we all slipped 2 or 3 ranks of XP when they did there big 'upgrade' a month or so ago.

This is not the XP recalculation they've done a couple of times.

I just completed another troop upgrade, XP goes up, then goes back down.

Ha, and I was wondering how it was possible that I reverted back one level, lol!

Finished my tank upgrade, poof level 160.
Next day logging in, woosh back to level 159 like nothing happend :-O
