Losing medals for no reason due to "dumb" combat mode at start

I've already lost quite a few medals recently because of this "bug". It starts deploying troops while I'm still checking the target I'm going to attack. I either drag to move the viewport or zoom in/out and it starts deploying troops...

It may be that you have a type of troop selected when you click intending to change your view or zoom in/out. Can you recall or otherwise confirm? I mention this specifically because it has happened to me in the past, and would welcome having no troop type selected by default to avoid this. If you did not have a type of troop selected and this still happened, I agree that's a bug indeed.
