This week's Marco Polo is encouraging. He is finally accepting rubies, and they can be used to buy troop cards. The cost isn't as crazy as some had speculated (400 to 500 rubies), so I hope this trend continues.

doesnt change the fact that p2w features need to be removed from wars and us f2p people still wont be able to keep up as it will take a weeks worth of wars just to buy a couple cards.

slight relief but no way it can match the quality and amount of cards p2w players got, but can beneficial in mid-rank wars where not all alliance players are p2w, get close to top 10-20 wars and u will be turned into ashes XD

I'm happy about the ruby prizes. When I first logged in and heard the fireworks I thought "oh no! Not him again! 🙄" but then I saw I could spend my rubies 😀 I even bought one of those ntg shipments 📦 for a chance at replenishing much needed ntgs. For all the whining we do about P2W they do give us opportunities to earn the TT as well so that's looking on the bright side. 😎

It's something but not enough. The price should be 300 or less for good armies. With the price at 400 to 500, you have to fight 2 wars to get a single troop, and the ones offered this week are pretty weak compared to the crown offers.

Way to pop my bubble Quovatis 🙄 I think you need some much needed rest in the Hobbit hole. Hang out with us with a brewski in hand and talk about how strawberries have seeds on the outside. BV123 has a theory that they cannot be trusted because it's like they wear their private parts on the outside of their pants. 😳

Wait... that was the convo last night.... what were we talking about again? Oh yeah Marco Polo. The way I see it is we play a game. War is part of the game and we have fun (when it's a fair match) being in wars. We had fun before the rubies, now we get rubies and still have fun. Our man Marco comes by pitches his tent and trades those rubies for TT. Those were TT we didn't have before or had to pay crowns for. Maybe they are not top of the line but they also make the different between a 4 star with 1 remaining oil well and a 5 star with a destroyed oil well. So to me, Marco is a pretty OK guy. I'll give him a pat on the back.

But I also see your point about all the opportunities to purchase much better troops and that in and of itself is the problem. People addicted to spending money to feel good about "Dominating" the opposing team purchase these troops possibly at the detriment to their own financial wellbeing and a company profiting from it. That there is the problem... Not the devs giving us opportunities to get lesser stuff for free. Just the way I see it.

GailWho If you really want to talk about what we had "before rubies"...

We had a great game that had no PTW elements. War was fun and was a true measure of skill. Events came along, which was great, where everyone had access to the exact same troops cards and buildings. They couldn't hoard the buildings, they had to use it that week. Everyone was on the same level. All was good.

But now you can buy cards and buildings with real money. War is now about who has the best troop cards and buildings, not about skill.

So don't act like the rubies is some kind of great free thing. It's like BHG beat you up and stole your wallet, but then hands you back a dollar bill for "free"! How generous, right? If we could buy "good" armies for a good price with rubies, it might help offset the PTW fiasco, but they have a lot more to do to make any headway. This barely puts a dent in the problem.

Ok I see I ruffled some feathers here Quovatis ... I totally agree with you I loved the days before glory and sandbagging and stronghold and PTW troops. It hasn't been about skill since peeps decided to sandbag to get the upper hand. I've been on the warpath about that and it's done no amount of good. The big guys sandbagged to get a match and sh!t rolled downhill to my hobbit hole. Now the big guys are complaining about Elephants in strongholds and guess what? We saw our first one in last war so again sh!t rolling. I wish we could go back to that time... hit the restore backup and be pre-glory days but we can't. Much like life, this game has good times and bad. I'm trying to make lemonade out of lemons. A small positive thing can be enough to get you through a tough time. In the meantime I play the game one war at a time. We won this one. Searching again, have no idea if it will be fair or not. Will we lose 700 glory or win 7? I don't care any more. I don't even look at top 100. It doesn't represent anything to me. What I care about is playing a game with my friends. Trying my best to get 5 stars. And if a silly Assassin Army purchased with rubies I won in the last couple wars will help me do it all the better.

Think those Dopplesoldners are more useful than the Assassins and Heavy Vandals, but that's just me.

sure we have opportunity to earn them, but at such a low rate it still doesnt matter when faced against a p2w alliance. You need 24 a week if you wanted to max out for offense and defense. It takes a weeks worth of wars just to earn ~3 troop cards and im going to be that if elephant archers are offered for rubies, it will take a weeks worth of wars just to buy one.
