My opinion is that the medal gain/loss in battle doesn't make sense.

In the current system, the spoils of war are decided by the level of the player. If you go up against an opponent with a lower level than you, you stand the chance that you can lose a great amount of medals in case you lose. So theoretically, someone from the medieval age could have a higher level than someone from the enlightened age, for example, if the medieval age person has upgraded everything, while the person from the enlightened age could only have upgraded his/her defenses.

In the previous example, which has happened to me (me being the medieval person), the person from the medieval age generally doesn't stand a chance against the person from the enlightened age. However, if the medieval person loses, that person can lose up to 15/16 medals, which is, in my eyes, completely ridiculous.

My conclusion, the age of the person you're up against should also be a factor in determining how many medals you win or lose, not only the level of the player.
