I started discuss HERE back in 2022 and have returned to it several times over the years and want to discuss it again.
Players encounter bugs consistently, almost after every game update.
Some bugs are so critical that they completely paralyze the gameplay.
Moreover, fixing bugs can take quite a long time, literally weeks.
We return to the issues of quality of testing game updates again and again.
Yes, as a developer, I understand that there are bugs that are difficult to detect at the testing stage for some reason.
But I still can’t understand why you don’t have a mechanism for rolling back the code to the previous working version?
Your developers probably use some kind of version control system, for example, Git.
Any such system allows you to easily and very quickly return to previous versions of the code, to a working release without bugs.
Why don’t developers do rollbacks so that players can at least enter the game while bugs are being fixed in parallel?
The daily online game is more than a hundred thousand accounts, which is quite a lot.
What is happening now is a lack of respect for every player.
You are forcing all of us to do the work of testers.
Is there a way to rethink the current update testing process in a more productive way?
I have already suggested - give some players access to testing updates on a separate beta server, like it was with the Manufacture.
Where is your test leader? Why is he so negligent in his duties?
Why can't the developer leader implement the ability to roll back a release to a previous working version?
This would be the most wonderful addition to the next QoL...
