There is little in this update to improve the game in any substantial way.

I noticed that the Missile Silo gets a buff from the Museum. But when I am attacked successfully, it's by CWA players fielding heavy tank mk6's which would have defeated the Silo regardless.

As for the new University leader, I welcome the new General, citizen reductions, and discounts on General upgrades. Though small, I will award one star for those.

The term "Fort Generals" seems to be redundant. When it says "Fort Generals" I suspect it just means "Generals", so the wording is silly. If not, the implication that Generals receive buffs on defense (but only if posted in the Fort) that do not apply on offense (or, one assumes, in the Pentagon) would upend the traditional uniformity of unit stats, which is poor design.

The time reductions on upgrades to war tactics and generals are welcome though I note that they are once again given in odd fractions that disadvantage players whose play style benefits from whole-day increments, and I wonder if the designers have simply forgotten the relevant principles of game design here.

For its part, the Museum update confuses previously clear taxonomies and gives players the choice to either reverse the previous focus on loot, in which case it's counterproductive—or not to, in which case it's irrelevant.

All in all, the game continues to careen into needless complexity, offering marginally useful benefits and diluting previous choices, while reflecting a poor understanding of players and the game itself. As updates are rare and time is ticking away, every lost opportunity to address core issues carries an ever heavier price. I rate this new release as one star out of five—a marginal victory at best.

this game went into complete shit direction, now any base u attack u don't know at least 80% of it's potential strength

first hidden university bonuses
now hidden museum bonuses that are much worse than university

sometimes i am surprised by how fast enemy defender spawn because of it, or how strong enemy defenders, weakened troops,
now it's going too far by adding almost all aspects like catapults, silos, towers, ATG, snipers, redoubts to it
u can't calculate any shit when u send ur troops or fighters to take down a target

this hasn't become a strategy game, this has become a roll the dice game

element of surprise is not accepted in this condition, basically surprise should be only limited to traps positioning
but going into a completely dark cave without a single torch is not called element of surprise, it's called stupidity

Just to play devils advocate, isn’t a more well-rounded museum with many more aspects to the artifacts a good thing, at least for newer/younger players?
Lets face it, established players should already have upgraded ATG guns or towers, etc, so ANY extra from the museum is just a nice bonus, nothing to be relied on.
I get the sense that the majority of complaints are from players that had nice rss bonuses and, now things are less ‘rss oriented’ we’re crying foul? Why? What’s changed for you?
If you have good artifacts already then the new system shouldn’t be an issue. If there’s more complexity to new artifacts it should benefit younger players and not really affect established players. An established player shouldn’t be relying on the museum bonuses anyway, imo.
If you haven’t received any decent artifacts after all this time I feel for you but it’s not the end of the world.
The only thing I disagree with is adding the new building bonuses to Jewelry and pottery, it just confuses things. Imo, these should be with the Armor artifacts.

I disagree. I like the complexity to a base I’m attacking.
Do I drop my generals first? Do I keep them in case of an emergency? Will need my troop cards? Will I need my tactics?
All these decisions have always been relevant, now just a little more so. I
I don’t think the museum will change stats THAT much in the grand scheme.
But I agree there is more complexity than there needs to be. It’s a maze trying to work out our own stats/benefits, forget about anyone else’s.

The issue is that what i have aren't helping in war. I don't know if i should keep some of the new artifacts, which are lowering enemy's defense strenght, in case they will be needed in war in the future.

Great update imo.
For those with nice jewelry artifacts: Just switch to them while looting and when going afk, give your defensive buildings a nice boost (no use for those resource stuff while not looting, right?)

New jewelry artifacts does not boost your defense, they lower enemy's defensive strenght.

this is the biggest error with the new artifacts. They should be with the armor or with a new category called "Defence" or "Barricades" or "Buildings". Neat and clean.

Festivus - not sure I am that kind of quitter. I have my bazooka tower ready to put down right in the center of my base, with all of my farms and caravans left under construction. I have no oil wells. It will be a monument to stupidity.

I agree with this. You can do fog of war, but not in a game where it takes hours to rebuild your planes and tactics, and a day to rearm your generals. The assumption is we can look at a base, know our troops and the approximate strength of the buildings we see, and make a decent plan in 30 seconds or less for multiplayer.

Demolition is even further towards being obsolete now, as knowing how many demo tactics are necessary to destroy a building is a requirement for even trying those. The university and other comparative HP buffs had weakened that already, I think this pushes it further towards being trash.

Manifesto I have only one or two decent jewelry artifacts across three accounts. I rolled through all my fragments on all accounts last night before updating, and kept the very best I found. They still aren't close to the level of the best I have seen out there, but everything rolled since has been polluted with stupid junk stats that I really don't care about. So those probably are the best I will ever have on those slots. That is both freeing and disappointing.

The entire museum mechanism is boring for me - lots of clicking for the possiblity of something good, but the certainty that most will be junk. The more necessary it becomes to the game, the closer I am to the door. As long as it remains a minor boost making very little difference to most players, whatever. But the writing is on the wall.

Think the first two bonuses from Hannibal’s tree should be 30%. 15% of 40 (assuming you Attack someone your own age) is an extra 6, not worth the probable 2 million gold and 10 days. Mercenary Attack should be 30% to match the 30% Health that’s also given in the tree. Otherwise, it’s a decent tree.

mhm ... it's tiring to look at 6 lines on junk items in high quantity, maybe bad for our health.

So people meeting your base will think: “Damn, another pinchpenny...”, while meeting my abandoned base with maxed oil wells full of delicious oil they will think: “Thank you, man, for your generosity! Be well wherever you are right now!”
