GREEKS
*ISSUES
One of the nations of Dominations and is considered as one of the weakest(if not the weakest) and has a rather stale mid-town ages.
*One of its Nation benefits is Better Architecture but the +5mins per age Instant Finish and General Recovery is not effective in dealing with construction or upgrades which takes more than several days unless you can time it right and finish it to benefit from the Instant Finish.
*Nation Refund is an issue if dealing with less costs. It can actually scale better late game but many nations are thriving on looting other nations in which the British excels at with their increased loot amount.
*The unique unit, Companion, is a sad copycat of what the French is better at: the tankiness of a Chevalier which most players prefer for a heavy cavalry unique unit.
-SUGGESTED REWORKS
Nation Power-Greeks has the Better Architecture, in which, can be expressed in more useful ways than an Instant Finish. Nation Refund is not very interesting in early game and many nations earn resources faster in looting. These are some ways that the Greeks would be able to better emphasize their unique nation power.
1) Better Architecture - All structures has bonus 5% hitpoints. All defensive structures deal additional 5% damage. This enables the Greeks to put on tougher defenses which would directly express "Better Architecture" on terms that Greek buildings are tougher and deadlier than other nations.
2) Nation Builders - All buildings and upgrades takes x% less time to finish. I suggest a 10% which is very steep for early ages but scales very well into the late ages.
As you can see, Nation Refund is removed. Although better in late ages, it does not sit pretty well especially with overwhelming demand of resources making looting a lot better impact than refund.
Unique Unit - While the fact that the Companion unit is just the alter ego to Chevalier statwise, it is also not very unique in aspects unlike other unique units that have something that express their uniqueness from other unique units like the British having +1 range, the Korean Hwarang having +40% damage and the Chinese having faster rate of fire. Companion is just the opposite of Chevalier making players choose a tankier heavy cavalry possessing same stats. Companions are described (in Alexander's General description) as making flanking maneuver and to be able to do that, you need to move faster and because players would generally choose Greeks in the unique unit standpoint because of the damage it deals taking out enemy defenses.
Companion - deals +25% bonus damage and moves twice as fast than a standard heavy cavalry.
Having an increased mobility, it enables Companions to approach target defensive structures faster combined with higher damage making a deadly combination against defenses. This change allows the Greek unique units to have their own identity and giving a viable choice to players that chooses a Heavy Cavalry as their unique unit. Removing the bonus health from the Companion renders it as an ordinary Heavy Cavalry in hitpoints. This gives the Companion unit a unique strength and weakness(Fast but Softer) over a Chevalier (Slow but Tankier).
Feel free to leave your thoughts and constructive criticisms.
