Network Connection Error

For about a week and few days I am not able to start DomiNations on my Android OS smartphone. When I try, the following message appears:
Network Connection Error.
Unable to connect with the server. Check your internet connection and try again.
-(my game id).

I have working connection and I am able to play other games, browse pages etc. I have uninstalled DomiNations and installed it again (more than 10 times actually :) and the result is the same. Only difference is that my game id is not shown, but -1 is shown instead in the warning message.

Please advice how to solve the issue/whether it can be solved. I'm not quite big level, 102 or 103, but the game is actually quite cool and I miss playing it. The other available games on Google market are quite inferior (Clash of Clans is quite good too, but DomiNations is better IMHO) and I would like to continue playing my DomiNations game.

One more thing - few days before this trouble to happen, shortly after the recent update for Android, several players with account names exactly the same as existing players appeared in my clan. Those players stated that they were playing the game on iOS devices. I was wondering how it is possible to have two identical names and this does not make any conflicts, but because my game was working, I did not pay further attention.

Hey GoroMoro, are you connecting through a wifi connection or a data plan(3G/4G)? I'd suggest trying to turn off your data/wifi connection on your device and then re-enabling it to see if this helps, or try a different wifi connection if possible. If you continue to have issues, reach out to Support who can help you troubleshoot the issue further, or escalate it to the dev team. :)

Ok, finally I solve it, Seraphine hint was crucial about it. So, if somebody has a similar issue - connection drops, not able to login etc, the description below could be helpful.

What is the issue?
Not able to log in into Dominations.

What cause it?
Recent Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. This update is known for causing issues with Wi-Fi on some smartphones, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge in my case. Wi-Fi issue is not visible on first sight, users are able to browse sites, download and play games, etc. However, what is actually happen is that Wi-Fi connects and after while disconnects, for part of second, i.e. the connection is not healthy and constant.

What is the solution (in my case:)?
Update the firmware of your router, just to be sure you have the latest one. On your phone, set the advanced options of Wi-Fi connection and set specifically an IP address (it is the dummy IP given by the router, not by your ISP, usually it is 192.168.x.x) and a Subnet mask.
