This may have to wait until the space age but it depends if it could go tactic or go troop.

I would suggest a radar/sensor/satellite type tactic. Maybe someone else will have a better name for this. But generally it would be a one shot burst and for 30 seconds you could see the location of all traps. Possibly helping you before deciding on where to drop troops.

Option 2, a disarmament, minesweeper type troop. He identifies traps, and over a few seconds will disarm them.

As far as option 2 goes, I suggested this in another post as an addition to the Guerrilla/Saboteur/Commando unit. So I'm on board.

So what is the use of traps at all then? Invest milions of gold and months of upgrading them, and they all would be releaved by one war tactic? If your traps are still like gunpowder lvl than i understan why you are offering this. Sorry but in my opionion not a good idea. Nothing personal. :)

I think sabotage accomplishes the same issue you raise. In a blink you loose all defense on items you've dropped Millions on.

Maybe give the traps tactic a range, a circumference so that you can scan an area you think traps are in. Visible for 30 seconds.. Then gone.

But with sabotage you can actually choose what to do, where to use it because you can see all the defence. Then it is for defensive player to set up his base with good ideas and make it uncomfortable even to use multiple sabotages. But traps actually are invisible, so where then the surprise factor goes? With sabotage you cant ignore the buildings you use it on. Its up to offensive player to destroy them while tactic is active. As for traps you will see for a 20 seconds and then ignore them and go around. World wars would go out crazy. Everyone would be able to take 5 stars.

It's not like revealing the trap locations would render them useless. You'd still have to decide where you want to drop the scan(s). Additionally, you'd have to change your strategy on the fly. You do have that initial 30 seconds to decide where to attack, but the battle starts once you drop that war tactic. ...Seems like a pretty fair trade, IMO.
