Anyone else notice this since the patch? Have never had trouble getting members by dropping medal requirement some and setting us to open, but since the patch we've had 0 join (only people we recruit and they search for us manually). Anyone know of any changes there?

Wow, what an incredibly bad change for both established alliances and people looking for a new, fun environment to play in. Its been noticeable but not bad in our alliance, since we only lost a couple and generally have very low turnover....but give it a month and its going to dramatically impact the activity of most teams I would think. I can see this strategy working in brand new games, but an established one like this? Its awful. I sincerely hope they change it back very quickly.

Yes, its bad. I never heard any complaints about the system that used to exist. In fact, it was one of the great things of the alliance system here. As long as you had enough members to have at least a few thousand medals, it was easy to fill up your ranks....sometimes you just needed to drop the medal requirement. In turn, people looking for teams got to look at a list of some of the most active and fun ones for their medal range. It worked well. This is going to hurt alliances, and decrease fun for the overwhelming majority of people it impacts. And its only going to get worse unless its changed back. Of all the things that could have been prioritized over this lol, why there was time invested in working on this change baffles me.

For anyone wanting highlights from the linked thread, to summarize the change/problem:

Hmm. Before we were only showing top rated, nearly full alliances, which meant a strong inflow of users for them, but it was nearly impossible for any new, or lower ranked alliances to get members. We now show a mix of top, mid, and entry level alliances, and shuffle through them at a more rapid pace. This means that top alliances will see some downturn in new members, but overall more alliances should be able to recruit members to rise up and challenge them.
Tower, what is your alliance name?

Dear Ironangel,

I left my alliance temporarily and tried out your suggestions. I could not upload photos here, but the new alliance tab was not as you have described earlier. There is no mixture of top, mid and entry level alliance. It is only populated by 1-2 alliance with 5000-7000 medals and 40-50 members, the rest of the alliance have less than 2000 medals and less than 10 members.

This heavily skewed statistic might have caused very few or even no players to join the alliances of those who have expressed concerns here. My alliance is nowhere near Top clans, it has only 500 minimum medals and most of us are still in medieval of gunpowder age, we are not developed enough to have an unannounced sudden shut off of new recruits.

While I appreciate the new changes to the alliance gate, I sincerely hope that the Developers would not try to fix what is not broken and at least restore back the inflow of recruits to us, perhaps by rebalancing the heavily skewed numbers of clans with 1-5 members in the alliance gate to include more mid range and some top clans too (as you have mentioned earlier).

I think I can live with a dumber AI or other annoying bugs, but shutting the tap off alliance recruitment will cause many clans to die off, and an eventual self destruction of the game itself. Thanks for your notice and consideration in advance.

The whole alliance search system is completely flawed.. British Lions! have lost a few members recently (due to quitting the whole game at Enlightenment+ region - enough said about upgrade costs and time lol)

But NO members are joining, we have completely eradicated a minimum medal count and still no one for many many days now.

In the past if you dropped below 45 members they newbies flooded in.

Even if someone searches for British, the list expires before it even gets past the 1 member alliances (after the closed and invite only alliances) before you could keep scrolling until you found something half decent.

Nexon, if you dont fix this you are going to have serious problems, any new players looking for an alliance are only finding the broken, useless and inactive alliances with Leaders who no longer play (so no world wars and an extremely poor gaming experience for them-do you think they might quit too, like everyone else...?.)

Anyway, for anyone who does want to find a nice alliance that does function well look us up please...

I noticed that if people don't change the search filter, it default to show the lowest, inactive, closed, or fewest members alliance. This is stupid. The search should show the all active alliances first.

yeah, in my mind this isnt one that should wait for the next patch cycle to fix. Needs to be corrected before it really hurts the community. Just switch it back to the way it was please!!

Its a bit obvious and logical really isn't it. No one is looking to join a closed alliance.

Explains why following my throwing out the non contributors, I have not had the usual replacements. Oh well, just going to have to go with those wonderful guys that are already with me.

A drastic downturn in our alliance. I usually sift the deadwood after each war an we have an immediate influx of new members but this is not happening. Definitely can see good alliances dying out.

I really hope that the developer does something about this as soon as possible! If this is a new game, yes it is a good idea to skew the alliances to those with little members and of low medals as they will fill up quickly. But for now, didn't the Developers consider that most of such clans with low numbers are actually abandoned clans? The members left for other alliances cause it is inactive, possibly due to the absent leadership and it dwindled down to 1-5 inactive members who didn't leave before they quit the game. Even if they happen to be new active clans with few members and you "try" to populate them now, they will reach a stage like the rest of us now and die off eventually too cause they cannot replace the dead woods in their clans. It is a great pity too when the new player enters a dead clan, find it boring and leave the game without giving it a try.

To shut off the tap of supply of recruits the remaining active clans will just kill us all off one by one as we cannot replenish those who left. Top clans will start to feel the pinch as there aren't anymore "lesser clans" to feed them war medals, and eventually they will die off too as they find it hard to do war searches and there aren't anyone below to reign over. All these will eventually drive the final nail down the Coffin on this game on top of its degenerating AI and exponentially increasing bugs.

Please do something about this ASAP!

We only had 1 new recruit since the update and the situation is getting troublesome now. An urgent fix is needed.

Our alliance is experiencing exactly the same thing, we have removed members for various reasons and had only 1 new member since the update. It used to be that if we removed someone we would almost immediately get a replacement but not any more. Why have they tinkered with something that worked really well?

1 New member since the update (has it been over a week yet?). Will it be changed back to the older better logic?

We just had four join in a 15min period, so we must've popped up on the list for the first time since the update.
