[QUESTION] What kind of army you use for romans?

I am mid medieval age, I have ballistas and carts right now, I tried going with 1 cart, 2 ballistas, 10 archers and 29 spikemen and it is really hard to keep them alive, Before having carts and ballistas, I was running with 50+spikemen and 10 archer, I was doing ok, but I am trying to upgrade all my walls and defenses before upgrading to gunpowder

Medieval - easy - 70% legion, 30% archers. Cheap and quick to rebuild, and pick your targets. When you get into GP, and you upgrade the ballistas then start using them more at that stage.

I am currently trying 3 cart, archers and spikemens, when my pikemen does protect the carts, its so easy to keep them alive, liking this build so far

I'm going with 66 Legions, 18 Archers and 1 Wall miner. I usually separate them into 2 groups and drop in different sides. It's work quite well for me

I personally have been using 5 Knights, 15 archers and the rest legion. Seems to be working pretty well as the Knights help the other attackers survive longer.

This is exactly what I use. I have about 2-3 minutes downtime between attaacks to restore lost legionaires.
