The consequences of this so-called “rebalance” have been utterly disastrous for the game. Players are quitting en masse, exasperated with the futility of attacking in a post-rebalance era where defence is overpowered and the useful troop combinations limited to merely a couple units.

We’re well aware of how negatively the game has affected those in CWA, AA, and other high ages. I request that players at that level share their input on how the rebalance affected the offensive dynamic here. I’d compile a list of the most damning negative comments (because positives are nonexistent from a source that isn’t Startrek or 1-post Nexon alts), but I can’t be bothered to look through the 20+ threads and hundreds of posts discussing it. Nexon’s going to ignore them anyway; they find a way to take the GROSSLY negative feedback and say that they’re pleased with the changes. Either they have reading comprehension issues or they just don’t care, because it’s analogous to a five-year-old saying “I know you are, but what am I?”

Let me go into how the rebalance has affected offence in lower ages, for a breath of fresh air. I am level 70, Medieval, and Japanese. I’ve opted for a fully defensive layout, one which everyone seems to be skipping (apart from one attack where someone dumped their entire army in a corner and it was utterly destroyed), in no small part due to the rebalance. I’ve ran with numerous troop compositions — playing Germans, among them — including cavalry, supply carts, ballistae, and archers. In every case, I haven’t found success apart from attacking bases that are exceptionally very badly constructed. I don’t mean very badly constructed; even THOSE bases take too long to destroy. I mean exceptionally bad, as in, revolutionarily bad. That usually entails having barely any buildings, because my offensive forces, even though they’re maxed for my age, can’t destroy bases with defences that AREN’T Medieval, like my army.

* Towers? One Classical tower can one-shot my maxed Medieval archers. I usually lose three or four if my ballistae aren’t targeting it. Combined with the absolutely horrendous AI, archers can be in range fo a tower while attacking a farm or something, and they’ll get picked off with alarming speed whilst I can’t do anything about it.
* Catapults? Good luck hitting them when they’re near buildings, like I said, farms, markets, literally anything standing between my archers and the catapults will act as an excuse for my troops to attack those buildings, but not the catapult, while being pelted by that catapult. This is more of a fault with the AI than the rebalance itself, but it was very manageable prior. I wouldn’t even have complained about it if the rebalance had never happened, because I would hardly have noticed it. It is not only exacerbated but facilitated by the increase in HP.
* Castles? If I have my entire army attacking a castle, I lose six archers. I have 24 archers and I can scale it up to 30 or a couple more, but I realistically can’t do that because the ballista firepower is sorely needed. A whole military attacking one building is improbable unless I deploy beside it, so it’ll be like an entire force of ten, give or take a few, archers getting demolished by a castle while ONE ballista aids them. At that rate, it takes a ridiculous amount of time to destroy, and I’m practically doomed from the start if I can’t rally them into one.
* Ballista Towers? If I’m using cavalry, it’s game over. They will separate from the main army in such a way that they can’t get any help from the rest of the army, so if I don’t want to waste a rally and thrust the rest of my troopsin the way of other defensive buildings, they will die. The ballista towers, even Classical level, will have too much HP for them to destroy without it at least getting off two or three shots, which will usually kill one or gravely wound both if it switches targets for whatever reason. Supply carts are thrust in the way of danger, might I add, because they want to heal the horses; a tower or other building picks them off, in most cases.

Cavalry are severely slowed down by foot soldiers anyway. If a garrison manages to reach them, they might as well be sitting ducks if another defensive building like a tower or ballista has them in range. Supply carts have dreadful AI that could be outmade by my five-year-old brother. Archers get killed in one shot by towers a full age below them, likely without all of the library upgrades for towers, even though it shouldn’t matter and they should be killed in two shots, not one anyway. Ballistae are fine, but they’re amazingly weaker than I remember in comparison to buildings.

Horse raiders are the only relevant troop. I won’t even talk about pikemen, because they’re so pathetically weak against any base that has any defence at all, but horse raiders are quite relevant against many bases in conjunction with wall miners. Farms are generally easier to loot than caravans, but you can get hundreds of thousands in loot with exponentially less effort. No retraining 15-minute troops, no dealing with terrible AI (just wish they didn’t try to hit houses), and no need to buy troops or retrain tactics for 45 minutes. Nexon claims that they’ve encouraged troop composition diversity, but one look at the strategies in vogue nowadays disproves that. Nexon couldn’t even prove their assertions on stream.

Those of you displeased with the rebalance, share your thoughts, and try to go in-depth so that we can use this thread as a resource for reasoning against the rebalance. Anyone else in lower ages or have an alt? I’d like to hear others’ thoughts...

I’m overly frustrated as well as most others in my alliance.... We are now struggling to get 2-3 stars on bases that are 30+ levels below ours and -1 in age level. I either loose all my troops, or I run out of time — and this is with ALL of my troops maxed out and fairly heavily researched in the university (foot, shooters, cannons all maxed in research). Now add in how many troops I loose and the rebuild times, my attacking has dropped considerably due to time as well as frustration. The WHOLE rebalance just flat SUCKS in it’s current state.

I want this whole rebalanced rolled back out of multiplayer for the good of the game, but I won't participate in war on any level until the museum lottery / pay to win nightmare is removed from war.

192 posts and you're still medieval? That is a first that Ive seen though maybe it's your alt. I agree the rebalance has really altered the game especially after playing for more than a year so far. I can't say I'm completely for or against it but even myself being 230 CWA I find things difficult but the only way to adjust for me anyway was just dropping medals to silver or lower and that at least got rid of my MP woes. War of course is a whole other animal for sure. I don't mind the rebalance though maybe somewhere in the middle rather than what they did. It's one thing to pretty much double the HP of all buildings but defenders (Especially HT) got even more of a boost. I know that while it alienated a good amount of people, it also benefited the people that pay money/have paid money. All that I can really say is to find a way to adjust perhaps just get a much higher lvl alliance member to get you some higher lvl troops or drop your medals counts a lot. I know that lower age bases pretty much got the worst of it.

To list all the reasons why they should change the rebalance and to ask them to change it will likely never work. I've never once seen them do anything to that scale. The only things I've ever seem them do is perhaps nerf a specific unit because it was being used in a way that wasn't originally planned for (Night witch that never went away) but to change something that has affected every building and unit in the game, I think not. I would say that one should never stop posting about it because that's everyones right but threatening them with a mass exodus would not do anything.

On the other hand, multiplayer is hard to play without using any general, tactics, alliance tropps, etc... if you're trying to achieve 4-5 stars for ntgs. Something will have to be done about this. For example, doubling the size of loot when reaching 5 stars would make it worth losing all your army. Right now, not only you lose a lot of troops, nevermind the cost, especially in oil, but waiting to retrain planes and tactics makes moto raiding a viable option again, sadly...

Never forget that Nexon first goal is to make money, not making fun for players. Rebalancing, or any cockameany idea they come up with to make you have to change nation/upgrade different troops/tactics, etc... is good for them, and very bad for us...

They don't need to revert everything, just tweak one or two. How about just reverting the defending troops boost?

Since the rebalance disaster I have stopped playing. I do login mainly to keep in contact with my team mates that we bonded through the years playing this game. It’s difficult to just shut the door to something that you’ve invested so much time...

Yesterday I decided to have another go at Multiplayer war and I can tell you, I’ve never seen so many deserted towns in the game EVER! You can easily tell by the disarmed traps and the resources not gathered, still at the farms and oil wells. The multiplayer war experience remains as disappointing as it was since the rebalance disaster. I shut the game off with a bitter taste in my mouth and opened the AppStore once more in search of my new game to devote my self in... Any suggestions?

I will be happy if they revert back the defender boosts(make them equal as their attacking counter parts) make decoy fairly usable and maybe increase the percentages of the tactic blessing (80% and 1h) and training blessing

Where is the evidence for players quitting en masse? Just because some ppl who have decided to leave the game due to the update? People leave games like this everyday for all sorts of reasons but there are plenty of ppl coming in to replace them. Nexon doesn't remove inactive bases so every account that was created since the game started is available for plunder whether it's active or not. As the game gets older it's only natural that there will be more and more abandoned bases.

Completely agree with all comments. Used to love this game but really just play to help my alliance these days. Rebalance is a joke. When a high level Atomic age with all major upgrades can’t defeat low global age then there is a problem. Reverse the rebalance

Exactly! Our alliance is stronger than ever and we have nearly 50 members most of the time. Not a single member of the Star Trek alliance has complained about the rebalance. The rebalance was sorely needed as it had become too easy to 5 star opponents.

Agreed. Buildings HP might be tolerable. But defender troops are the most imbalanced thing they have ''rebalanced'' 😆

You guys are so cool in attacking that it really makes me wonder why I haven’t seen you in top-100?
Are you the ones with 16700 glory points and lots of sandbags? That’s the only active “Star Trek” that I’ve found.

To do that, they have to start them upgrading, then log back on so that the upgrade processes. Otherwise, there will be a permanently upgrading oil well with no oil sitting there.

I understand the frustration many are having with the rebalance. I am level 274 CWA and it for sure have made attacking more difficult. However I am totally for the rebalance, time Wars were all too common and as a maxed CWA 3D player see my base taken down every war after investing so much time and effort into it was not fun. Now only the most skilled attackers seem to be making five stars which I think is great for the game. Aside from the rebalance the biggest issue right now is the complete p2w that the museum has brought. The fact that we're at the mercy of RNG and gambling to improve our odds is completely ridiculous. Especially given the fact that Nexon is doing nothing to prevent us for being cheated out of our game and our money when we Face cheating alliances. The real issue that needs to be addressed is cheating

they would have crowns that they would never use again so they should use those to insta-upgrade the wells. and activate an oil blessing while theyre at it because then the blessing will never go away unless they log in again :)

I agree something needs to be done. Like Persia I'm at a lower age (Gunpowder); There seem to be very few comments from players at lower ages. The situation is incredibly frustrating as unlike the higher ages where you have factory troops, aircraft etc, we have no options but barrack troops and mercs.

Those saying about people coming in to replace people leaving; I'm stubborn so I have continued but I can see a whole lot of players simply giving up when they have lost their army for the hundredth time. It is a double whammy as obviously you need rss to upgrade etc, which now takes twice (or more) as long, which is compounding the problem.
