what's the point in earning ruby's from wars when there is complete rubbish in the VIP store and marco the robbing ba*tard polo, there used to be a time when there were good things you could buy with ruby's and now the VIP store is just as useless.

There's still some decent gets from the VIP store with Rubies, but not much. Marco is a bit of dink with them, though.
Looking at you, worthless speed-up chest and outdated Troop Tactics chest.
I'd really like to see Bjorn upgrade manuals go for rubies, because those are way too many crowns for manuals. Alternatively, introducing a new Ruby General would be a neat feature.

I always grab War Hall Chests from Marco Polo when they appear, since I always need blueprints and speedups. They haven't been offered for a while, however.
