Is it a good idea to rush to Industrial Age or continue to follow the "upgrade everything first" strategy?

I still have a lot more defense buildings not upgraded yet. My farms and caravans are still < L10.

What say you?

I am also tempted to upg to IA without upgrading all the defending towers. meh.... ok be honest, actually i do not even upgrade any tower as the price is so high.... i only upgrade barracks and researches in library. I do not see why i cannot upg to IA earlier. Will there be any consequence? The current defence already works well to agains level 120+ raiders.

I am maxed out GP,best way to go,maybe get 1 attack per day on my base...and they fail. Now after the defence boost and attack nerf...it's even better to max out your base before moving to industrial.

What I can think off is the higher cost of Nexting and the type of opponents we get matched up could be tougher.

I have always tried to upgrade all my buildings first before advancing in Age. I've done all my library researches but my walls are quite weak.

Thats never been the right strategy. As soon as all ur offense and support buildings(temple, mercenaties, alliance gate) are maxed out u move to next stage. Defense and economy can catch up when u have free workers.

Well, I haven't seen anything game changing like training blessing in IA. 5th tactic? Aircrafts? I doubt they may compete with raiders spam on efficiency. If they've made a blessing for faster tactics cooking, it could be the thing. I normally started IA upgrade the same day, but I feel no need of speeding it up or maintaining my medals. I will go low on medals until this madness for resources will decrease a bit and I finish my IA attack.

The reason to enter IA and max out ur IA offense before bothering catching up the enlightenment defenses is because hanging out in EA to max out defense and economy does almost nothing for ur gold farming. And gold farming is the difference between someone who can keep up with each age wall upgrades and someone whos falling one, two then 3 ages behind im terms of wall level. Or to put it a different way. Who here wants easier raiding? Everyone does. So go and max out your IA offense. The defense can catch up later. Training blessing is the most game changing thing in the game. But every IA upgrade improves your raiding. Ok not the temple upgrade. Thats just air defense and oil production. But everything else does. Alliance gate, mercenary camp, barracks +15 troop capacity(9% bigger army), blacksmith upgrades. Library, trade good storage, brandenburgh gate wonder for offense. Even entering industrial age removes gunpowder players from your opponent rotation which improves the gold in storage u run into. Its natural to feel like upgrading everything is the right thing to do before entering next age. Its the less efficient choice.

Oh and +1 tactic from war academy helps so when u wake up u can rock one more tactic before running out. It also allows u to upgrade tactics further. I dont have planes yet to say if their a game changer so neither of us is qualified to make a call. The same way someone doenst realize getting to enlightenment for training blessing is a priority until they get there. We may find out zeppelins are base killers

I haven't advised that you need to max all your defenses before going to IA. I just said that you may loose less on loot speed each day you're not in IA in comparison to how much you're loosing when you're not on EA training blessing. So if you play semi-casually, fixing some useful stuff may be okay. Upgraded caravans and vault may help you alot in getting those expensive upgrades in shorter sessions. Plus, I saw huge decline on rich bases because everybody hunts for resources actively. In 1-2 months it'll be the way better. Also, I do hope for balance patch soon. The only thing I suggest to invest crowns is barrack upgrades. They just stuck you and you loose many days.

Not down to rush into IA... seeing how you'll only beable to attack other IA players and possibly maxed EA players sounds not fun at all really. Im not into medal rushing or any of that either i just raid for resources, so seeing maxed walls/maxed defenses is a big turn off. especially since basically everyone in IA age rn have maxed defenses, id get blown away attacking..

I'd love to attack cheater bases, but I'm too low in age and medals. I guess when you cheat your way to the top you have nothing to spend those juicy resources on. Probably worse than I'm expecting though.

I've been contemplating the same thing, the only reason i haven't started the IA upgrade, it's i don't want to lose the ability to attack GP bases.

I agree with you Gambrinus, this argument alone trumps everything else. Players in high league can't see it because all they have to do is getting 1 star marginal victory to collect 200k ressources, but If you chose like me to hunt in the 600-1000 range, then you want to AVOID rushing IA at all cost, because GP bases are your bread and butter. You simply use your technological and troop capacity edge to roll over them. It's purely darwinian.

Dbuk's strategy may not fit everyone. He utilizes huge league reward and OP raiders combined with French bonus. It is smart, but not for everyone. Also, it may be changed any update. I 100% support rush to EA, caz of training blessing, which is much weaker now, but still a game changer. I expected at least tactics speed up in IA. It also may come the next update and then it'd probably would be reasonable to rush for everyone. Factory/aircrafts could be for paying players only. They even were greedy on guerrillas, so I have no doubt it's going to be the same there. It's an end game so far. At 1700 medals I am getting attacked immediately and bases I see are poor. They definitely need to buff gold league rewards, so I just can't find time to drop medals lol ))) I've a switch to ia but still not sure if it was right. I am enjoying the last days in EA 5-starring GP bases )))

i hang out in the silver league, and the battle bonuses are pathetic, so I'm definitely gonna buff a few more things in EA before i make the move to IA. and I'll enjoy those 5 star dominations over GP bases while i still can. also I've got some alli mates that already made the jump, so i can use at least some of that IA firepower while i bid my time.

Higher leagues escalate the bonus. 100k for empire 3 and now the 20% bonus i highly recomend everyone get higher. Because when the player base gets to empire then the current top players can get to dynasty and start making 200k league bonus fighting the same bases. Everyone benefits

Nope, greedy dbuk. :) I am going to drop medals before I max IA attack. I need my army to come back after oil units nerf. And recomment this to everyone. When you get there - you should have max IA attack, so you can raid them too )))

OK, I will continue to upgrade my defenses first before moving to IA. Maybe this time, I will also upgrade my farms and caravans first. There is no harm waiting for a month more I guessed.

Come on redgar :) We can all work as a team. If everyone moves up a couple leagues. Ull still be fighting the same bases but with more league rewards.
