SA War Weights are Broken

We are halting wars (again) until the SA war weights issues are fixed (again). They seem to have reverted back to wrong values with the last release. We don’t have any DA in our ranks, so those fixes have no bearing on us, We are tired of too-easy matches worth very little glory where our top ranks have no ruby-rewarding targets.

Gave it a go, still broken:

Us- SA,IA,IA,IA,IA,GP,CA,CA,CA,Iron
Them-GA,IA,IA,IA,GP,MA,CA,Iron,Iron,Iron

Search Time: 1h30m

Just like our two prior matches, if you ignore SA then this match is fair.

Just like our three prior matches, if you ignore SA then this match seems fair.

How is this match even possible unless SA weights are broken again?

That's a single SA so the matches seem reasonable to me; this does not indicate an SA weight problem. SA weight problem would show itself if an average SA was ranked lower than an average CW, for example, on your team. Even then it depends as SA with low defenses can easily rank below beefy AA's.

Instead, the problem is (a) the other alliances are so weak and need a stronger leader and (b) the player base size. If you want to match alliances with exactly 1 SA because you have 1 SA then you might have to wait a week as there aren't a zillion alliances.

Lastly, you should be thrilled that a 2 hour search time made these matches as the search variance gets to about 12%.

Lastly for real, there are SA players in the world with weak museums, and/or still use demolition and/or barracks troops. Also since each player can make just two attacks... it seems fair to me. And many SA bases can be taken out by decent AA players these days....

Edit: the main war match problem is how variance changes. Never let war search go over 30 minutes and you should, eventually, find a near perfect match. But, that means having no life and clicking war restart about 50x. Now if BHG allowed us to automate this.......

We weren’t looking for a war with exactly 1 SA. We are using 1 SA to point out the problem. Guess it didn’t work.

How about the following experiment with two teams designed to be close?

Team1: SA,IA,IA,IA,EA,MA,CA,CA,CA,Iron
Team2: SA,IA,IA,IA,IA,GP,CA,CA,CA,Iron
Glory difference 2154

Both started search at the same time.

2h40m later Team1 gets matched:
Team1: SA,IA,IA,IA,EA,MA,CA,CA,CA,Iron
Them: AA,GA,IA,IA,IA,IA,IA,GP,MA,CA
Glory difference: 4531

3h40m later Team2 gets matched:
Team2: SA,IA,IA,IA,IA,GP,CA,CA,CA,Iron
Them: AA,GP,EA,EA,EA,EA,MA,CA,Iron,Iron
Glory difference: 152

Maybe it’s just me, but something seems a bit off.
