I thought the Saratoga Event was the most fair thus far, and purchased the Event Pass. Although @64% of the top 100 finishers on the Global Leaderboard were Space Aged players, there was still some distribution of various Ages across the Leaderboard. I am Cold War Age and finished 54th on the Global Leaderboard, and #1 in my Group. It was nice to have a weekend Event for folks who work. It was also nice that many of the Goals and XP bonuses were more skill based.
I did not purchase the Event Pass for this current Halloween Event because the price point was too high, and because the bonus XP was Museum related...I still have a sour taste in my mouth from the first Event and the Museum crafting/Archeological Research issues which made it impossible for me, as a CWA player, to have a sporting chance at winning. The issue I have with this current Halloween Event is that a player could have hoards of Supplies stored, so this in my opinion is too much of an unknown at 50 XP a pop. I have a fierce competitive streak built into my DNA, so I’m not buying a pass if there’s no viable chance of winning the Event. It will be interesting to see the Ages of the Global top 100 finishers for this Halloween Event as compared to the Saratoga Event.
Personally, I would like to see more weekend Events, and more skill based XP.
This post is not meant as a complaint...just my observations and opinion. The Saratoga Event was a blast and very much fun for me as I felt I stood an honest and fair chance at winning.
