fake answers
1) kill it
2) get killed by it
3) hit next and skip it

need more info for real answer (e.g., your age, level, and nation). One general answer is split army in 2 groups, high hp units (tanks and generals to distract and absorb damage) and low hp units (howies and foot troops to attack until silo is dead). Dont rally until silo is dead or you are within striking range of silo.

As said above, would help everyone help you to let us know what age, etc, etc. Industrial players can take them out with strategy. I know because we have a few in our alliance that can. Just having high level generals/high hp mercy/donated ally troops to distract silo and enough ranged fighters to attack it and no problem. My ally asks for mk5 from me for a juicy silo distraction since it has a ton of hp.

5 or 6 demolitions usually do the work but I usually use my fighter jets to clear the path an it takes 5 planes one run pass to destroy an atomic level silo. If it’s well protected in the center I usually move in to the next base. When I carry my transport it can get the job done in a few seconds.

Your mileage may vary.

Do you want to know for war attacks or multi-player? I assume war, because at your level you should skip silo bases in multi-player.

Demolition is good, especially if you form the Mongol coalition, which increases tactics damage. A level 1 silo is 7,500 hitpoints, level 2 8,600, level 3 a bit more than 11,000. Calculate how many demolition you will need, taking into account any defensive coalitions the enemy base has, and train only that many.

Alternatively, use the 4-corner attack method. You will need 4 troop tactic armies and all decoys. You will also need quick fingers and a really good phone/tablet, because a lot will be going on!

Find the corner where your troops will not run into anti-tank guns, and drop your generals and donated tanks there, maybe a tank army as well. You want as many hitpoints in that corner as possible. You also want that corner to be far away from the silo so your high hitpoint group doesn't get within the silo's too-close-to-target zone. I've made that mistake too often!

Your next corner is where the base has a lot of resource buildings, Drop a raider (pirates, armored cars, motorcycles) army there. It will help you get the 50% QV.

Next corner to identify is the one closest to the silo. That will the last corner you deploy troops from. In the remaining corner, drop a tank army, shooter army, and heavy infantry army to form a secondary front. Drop a decoy towards the center of the base so your troops in that corner can get a decent amount of damage done before the defenders come after them, again to help with the 50% QV.

Now go back to the last corner. Drop your main army there, which should be mostly shooters and artillery. From that point until the chaos ends you will be deploying decoys and killing defenders with your planes. Even the best device will slow down a bit, so be prepared.

Sometimes there aren't 4 good corners. In that case, attack from 3 corners, combining the raiders with the secondary front, or skipping it completely.

Thanks! Yes it is for war. I will try the corner strategy. Sounds really hard, lol

Have you tried bribing it? You know, a couple of barrels of oil and some white chocolate. And obviously do it with a smile on your face, I hear Missle Silos love friendly people.

My planes are very friendly to Silos. Always showering them with gifts.

1) Check whether it could be taken down by your planes
2) if not: Check whether you can reach it while it is sabotaged
3) if not: deploy generals and Tank Defenders on a spot where the silo will shoot at them, while select a spot wisely (check atgs, and possible landmines areas), prepare a heal tactic for them if needed

We do exclude members from war if they use demolition on a silo, usually. 3 decoys are much more of a threat...

watch youtube replays and yes deploy generals and tank destroyers at one side, the most common thing to do

Some of my top attackers use demolition very effectively. A level 1 or 2 silo takes 3 demolition to destroy if you form the Mongol coalition. That leaves 3 or 4 tactics for the rest of the attack, which is then much more like a multi-player battle, so you can use all your normal skills and strategies.

That assumes the opponent doesn't have egyptians. A strategy that requires an offensive coalition to work against a base without defensive coalitions isn't very scalable.

Every war there are at least 2 top 5 bases that don't have defensive coalitions. My demolition guy attacks those. I use the 4 corner attack method on the ones that do have defensive coalitions. Diversity is an advantage.

Hey Cosmid,

Missile silos are the defensive game changer once you reach higher levels. A must have on any base in world war. But a pain in the *** to attack...

Basically you got three different choices:

1st. Burn baby burn - take it out early
a. Demolition (as many as it takes) plus mongols (can get upto +45% attack on your demolitions)
b. or Planes (most effective to send a fighter to clear out any SAMs, then follow up with a bomber to deliver the kill)
c. or Combination of a+b, typically several demolitions followed by a fighter to finish the job

For this to work, you gotta get good at recognizing the difference between a level 1 or 2 silo vs a level 3 or 4 silo. Until you get to stronger levels of demolition/fighters you might not have the power you're gonna need, to take out a level 3 or 4 (see option 3 below)

2nd. Silo, what silo - ignore that sucker
Say what?! Yup, seriously. Ignore it.
Find a place on the map where a high hit point army (a mix of generals, mercenary tanks, heavy tanks, regular tanks works best) will slowly progress somewhere useful, without hitting any anti-tank guns early on. What's gonna happen is that the silo is gonna light up like a Christmas tree, and then throw missile after missile at these guys. But sadly for the silo, nothing else is gonna happen. Those units have such high hit points that they can suck it up.
Meanwhile, put the rest of your army... wall miners, artillery, riflemen... somewhere far, far away from your big bait. Space them out so they don't clump together. Then let them move towards the silo without attracting its attention at all.

It takes a little practice to make this work, so try it out on some challenges vs the high players in your alliance. But when it does work, it's deeply satisfying. :)

Advanced strategies: Make life easier for your bait army, by using fighter planes to clear out any anti-tank guns that are in their way.

3rd. This isn't the oil you're looking for - move along, move along
Some bases, especially with level 4 silos and level 16 walls, just deserve your respect. Just hit 'next'. Or if it's world war, ask one of the higher guys on your team to deal the dirt...

Good luck buddy! Let us know how it works out for you?
