I am going to second Quang here. The hardest part of any age is the very start before you manage to upgrade troops. It is great to say I have no use for my food let me put it in walls. Suddenly it will be tough to find enough food to rebuild your army after a failed attack let alone upgrade troops. The game needs to be playable for those coming behind or it will die. And scratching around for chicken at the beginning of an age with weak troops is difficult enough now.

Finding food is always easy. Just hit inactive bases with farms on the outside. There are always lots of those in the low medal range.

I see both sides. I agree that the beginning of a new age will be much tougher now. Not only will your troops be weak, but now the walls will be stronger in general, throw in the lengthy upgrade times from IA on up and this may become a real problem.

However something had to be done about the months long maxed-out food storages. I would have liked to see a food-to-oil biofuel plant or trading post, or a second armory, or a rethink about having most offensive upgrades require food. Of course those upgrades will be finished first, leading to the current issue.


Interestingly enough, this may curb some of the 5star stalemate problems in wars. However nickel and diming dead farms, after hitting next a dozen times to find them, to gather up 6-8 million food is not appealing either.

Time will tell how the new paradigm works out though.

I am deeply disappointed in food for walls.. When I use food to build a wall, I expect it to be made out of food! with different colors and special characteristics... since all of my food is apples, than my wall should be stacked apples, or hardened apple sauce... it should start out with a red or yellow color and then slowly turn green as it is coated with mold... also animals should come by and taste it, come on! would a deer just walk by a wall made of apples!

Sigh... Nexon, I know you try hard but really....think before you act...and while your at it... give us some new food! so bored of apples!
