Busa you should go to one of the cheat sites cos clearly you need some help

I'm more than okay bro...all I know is that I state fact. Matchmaking is non-existent. It's pointless even building a defense if players AGES above, who have ranked down to BRONZE LEVEL LEAGUE can constantly rape my base. Doesn't matter if its two or one age above...ONE AGE above is kitten vs lion....no point in defending...which is a large part of the basis of an RTS game...DEFEND...RESOURCE..ATTACK...gathering resources is pointless too as they will get plundered anyway

Whatwhat, I'm GP age and have definitely attacked classical and medieval ages (and of course above). Not sure about lower, but I'll look now.

Bussa, I agree that the match making is not ideal, but the most important thing is risk vs reward. If a weaker player has only 15K loot, I'm not going to even waste one solider on it. If a stronger player has 450k, I know I'll get smashed but I'l try get as much as I can.

If the reward is big and the risk is small, then it's perfect. Wooden walls and has 250k loot, I'm going to take it! They should have rather spent it on upgrading the walls first.

So the strategy is, (because remember that this is a strategy game) make your own town as unattractive as you can, by increasing the risk for others and don't leave your loot lying around. It's not always possible but that's why I say, as best as you can.

You can only attack 2 ages below you and up. The age order is classical, ME, GP. So of course you can attack classical. I'm enlightenment and I cannot. Why is that so hard to understand.

I think Whatwhat is right, I'm in GP, and I can attack Class, ME, GP, Enlightenment. But when I go up I'll loose chance to attack Class.

Either way, what you're complaining about has been complained about in other threads, and is the standard in many other online battle games, which was also stated in those other threads.

Perhaps they could reduce the level to 1 up, 1 down, but you're still going to be attacked by higher level players levelling down.

The rewards for being higher up the ladder need to be a LOT LOT LOT larger to stop people medal dropping. And even then, sometimes people just like smashing lower levels and getting the loot.

...did you know someone in that previous post called Whatwhat a "steamrolling zerg". Every time I attack a lower level player now I can't help chuckling to myself about that. Tickled me pink.

You can always quit the game though if you are unhappy with it? Me personally, I love it, and don't give a flying hoot if I'm attacked. (I said that in the previous post too!)

The problem is that once you reach a certain point, it becomes more or less impossible to continue advancing. An alliancefriend of mine finally realized this, after weeks and weeks of complaining that we're staying low medals to farm. He finally admitted that he could in no way continue to upgrade at 1000+ medals once prices rose above the 3 million mark. It just can't be done at the moment. You go afk for even 10minutes and you're out 2-400k gold. Depending on how much you have saved.

Yep, you're right Ionass. Just no other way. Aussie Guy is another good example. Right up the top you're either spending real money to move (a lot of it too) or you drop medals and farm lower level players.

Well I'm full lvl 8 walls which is 55 Mil. Full lvl 9 is 110 Mil. Full lvl 10 is 330 million. Lvl 11 walls I assume are 6m each meaning 660 million. So far I have raided almost 200 million gold and I don't think many players will have raided much more than that. I can assure you there is no one in this game who has looted 1 billion gold without cheating.

The classic problem of risk vs reward, it's human nature to troll the weak because hey, that gets you to the top of the food chain baby. The core of the problem is the fact that you simply can't stay on top without getting harassed by other competent people, so you get out of the huge ocean and find yourself a small pond, at the cost of, what, 3000 food? There's nothing worthwhile on top, otherwise people would not try to go down Then, even if you do give worthwhile reward, you need to be careful to not cater to the 1%, otherwise the middle class will simply down level because the string gets stronger and the middle simply can't keep up, let alone the filthy casuls

Ah sorry. I've haven't got any lvl 10 walls yet so was just guessing that the price doubles from 3 to 6. Seems silly the from 9 to 10 the price triples then from 10 to 11 it only increases a little

It is not cheating or exploiting.
Higher age players staying in lower ranks have their share of disadvantages as well.
If you consider the daily bonus and etc.

But I am not sure if there is any other penalty in game for higher age players attacking lower age players.
Still pretty new to the game at the moment. Considering that this game concept is pretty mixed between Civilization and Clash of Clans, I would be expecting some form of loot penalty against the other players who are obviously in higher age, sticking around in a lower rank.

Just my thoughts. Not planning to impose my thoughts on anyone though.

Actually polarbear... Both me and whatwhat have been here from the get go, we're in no way out of the top 100 players, my own personal best is 1340 medals, after that i just couldn't be bothered. You used to be able to exploit this game pretty hard. Sometimes even the game itself helped with doing so by randomly crashing you at the right time. 972million gold + another 2-300 for maxing out buildings is hard, even when staying online 24/7 and constantly raiding, i suppose a few are legitimate, but when you see them plopping up left rightand center, combined with a ton of newly created sub-20 enlightmentage with only 1 mill/market, of course you know somethings fishy.

No issue here.

Anyone play Clash of Clans (there is another one, something like Castle Clash but I can't remember specifically)? Each uses the same principle. This system allows a user to gain or lose medals. I do not have to win a war if I don't want to. Don’t call it exploiting. It is called, wait for it, wait for it, "strategy!"

As a hunter I’m going to where my prey is; I don’t expect it to walk into my freezer prepackaged. Thus, I go where the resources are more bountiful.

Consider the other method used by Game of War, Hobbit or War of Nations: place you on a map and anyone (regardless of level) can attack you as long as they know your coordinates. How is that "fair?" Starting off fresh next to someone maxed out and with no qualms of PVPing your hide for easy resources? No medals or trophies exist to prevent it.

Get off your high horse, learn to play, then maybe you can start having some fun. Otherwise find a game with a different style.

totally agree man, if you have a problem with the way this genre of game is played, then don't play it. simple as that, go play sims or something if u wanna build stuff an avoid confrontation with real people. cause thats what sounds like the real problem here lol.

I guess the original poster never played games like this. The same thing happens in others, like Clash of Clans.

I "assume" there are penalties in place, just like Clash, since this game seems heavily influenced by it (and also a bit of Boom Beach); the higher the attacker's age is compared to the defender, the more severe the loot penalty is.

Though, this game isn't Clash of Clans, and has its own set of rules. One is that you get to keep your army if you destroy all defenses. In Clash, you lose whatever you deploy. So, in this game, higher level players can steamroll lower players very rapidly by just deploying everything they got each time. There's no decisions to be made from it like in Clash, you just roll your nose over the device and obliterate little empires one after the other.

Perhaps because of these additional rules, the loot penalties need to increase in severity more rapidly when there's a difference in age.

Also, as said, there needs to be loot rewards per victorious battle which increase dramatically as you reach higher leagues. Not just the absolutely pitiful daily reward which grants no incentive to reach higher leagues at all.

yeah its definitely going to be the simcity players that struggle the most with this. ive played plenty of games where there is no protection for new players
