Ive just gone IA, was on 1500 medals and dropped to 600 or so. I'm so sick of GBA guys just rolling my base whenever I'm trying to save for upgrades. I maxed EA and got what I could in IA. But yet again Ive basically been keel hauled. My tc is pretty well set out, even in WW I'm ranked 2nd in the clan and are rarely attacked but outside that is different. Ive just had another rank 161 GBA attack my lowly fresh IA tc with no fewer than 121 troops that srsly look like Blackwatch, 4 of the latest fighter planes and 4 or 5 artillery! Talk about over kill and the attacker got away with 500k gold 400k food 2 diamonds and one each of the trade goods and 750 oil, .. I don't mind a decent attack but why cant Nexon say screw the medal totals lets match make with XP!? I'm finding it extremely difficult to save anywhere past 3mil gold & food and 20k oil. Even with successful raiding with my limited rifles etc :(
I know what nexon what us to do and that's buy and use crowns, but this is really pushing crapsville to the edge imo.

Higher age pillage lower age is part of the game and a money earning model for them. If you are level 130+ and not advance age yet it is your fault.

We've all been there Funks and we've been the source of other's frustrations as well. I'm wondering how many Gun Powder bases you attacked when you were a high level EA in order to upgrade to IA? The first few weeks in IA are the toughest and most frustrating but you will get what you need to move forward and soon you will have all you new IA toys and be able to pummel freshly minted EA bases. Sh!t rolls downhill.😊

I hear you! We have a number of recent upgrades to IA and all suffering, including me. BUT to be fair I'm doing my fair share of looting and they're probably all cursing me as well. As Gail said, the first few weeks are toughest in any level and I remember the same scenario when first reaching EA.

yeah, we've all been there :(
If multiplayer was based on level and someone designed an immaculate base for that level, why bother advancing??
Allowing higher age to attack an age lower, pushes everyone to keep advancing, playing, paying, etc.
Tip: if you spent that gold on a wall, they wouldn't have 500k to steal :D (that's what I tend to do, cuz I hate losing that much gold too) (though recently I'm losing tonnes of oil, but can't spend it right now)

Try to get more medals, where your attackers does not care so much about resources.

The suggestion of getting more medals (maybe at least 1200-1400) is a really good one. And expose your TC. You put yourself in a league that cares more about loot than medals. You hurt yourself by dropping.

Matchmaking by XP is not a good idea. You would see that abused just as much. People would just not build roads, farms, caravans, etc to manipulate the system, resulting in less loot for everyone.

For me low medals worked till i reached EA age. After that i am sitting at no less than 2000 and never had a complains about that. Sometimes i was attacked by stronger players but mostly the same lvl opponents.

This a fault of basing the matchmaking on the Elo Rating as used in chess. Medals being the criteria modified by plus/minus an age.

Where it's gone wrong is they should have limited the available loot as well. They have done this in War - the lower the age you attack the less loot you can win (probably nobody notices because the amounts are trivial - war is a loss maker for the top players filling all those bases with howitzers).

So a L188 player lurking at 400 medals steamrollering lowly IA, instead of getting ~15% gold/food/350k max, should have been 2%/50k max or less. Could work the other way too, L140 5*'s a L188, takes 50%/$2m max (or all their resources if cheater flag is set)

It does happen in chess, if two top players meet, then presumably it's big news and big $1m prize money - if Gary Kasparov* goes to the local Sunday Chess Club and thrashes a 10 year old kid, he get his bus fare home.

So basically a 'feature' that should have never made it out of beta - oh wait, we are still beta testing this game!

(* only one I can think of)

What Gail said.

I'm questioning what time frame you're talking about where you've dropped from 1500 to 600. You mean over the course of a week or so, yeah? And even then .... hmmm ...
If you log off at night and get keel hauled you should get a big juicy peace treaty that'll last til the morning - and even if you don't play again the next day you're only likely to be attacked 2-3 times more at most (with resulting PTs) - so I would think that you'd be able to make up your medals losses again the next night. Unless I'm missing something fundamental here ???!

Even with 2 attacks per 24hrs I'm maintaining my spot around 2300. Are you not getting any PTs??

Limiting the loot per age is a good idea but I would like to think that at the higher levels the +1 medal win should be changed to ''+1 medal per star'' win. This will still keep things relatively slow/grindy at the top levels but it will give players an incentive to go for the 100% win on some ridiculously maxed bases. Now, we get 1 medal whether it's a quick TC snipe or a quick TC snipe and the rest of the base. I would rather take the chance to lose my whole army if it means a 3 or 4 medal win - every time. Losing your army for a measly single medal bites big time!

Think he's complaining about getting steam rolled by more developed players and losing lots of resources. He doesn't care about the medals.
He wants players to be matched by their development as opposed to medals (he dropped intentionally).

Ok, if I read the comment that way then I say ''what goes around, comes around''. Did he drop to 600 after he was steamrolled - in which case isn't that exactly what he's going to do to low lvl EA players now that he's IA??
Or did he drop to 600 and THEN get steamrolled by higher players? In either case I would ask what's he going to do at 600. Whether he gets steamrolled or not, is he going to bypass low lvl EA players out of principle ??!!

To paraphrase GailWho - what goes around comes around. Funks needs to enjoy the ride!!

There isn't much you can do about it Funks , that is the way most games are. The big prey on the small. And no matter how big you are, there is always someone bigger.

The better you understand this, the better you will enjoy the game. Don't take to heart what others say. The most important is that you enjoy the way you play the game.

The 1st few weeks of any new age is always hard.... for everyone. You just need to bull through it.

Ps: The part about 'What goes around, comes around' bit is true tho.
