So, about the same as the original post from Joe?
I agree with your comment about the army combo. The only troops they seem to be pushing, with their comments and with sales, are heavy tanks and machine gunners.
AND, using heavy tanks is nothing new!

it wasn't boring but it wasn't inforrmative whatsoever. everything joe said in this forum he repeated on stream. after that it was tin soldier marketing all the troop cards they want to sell. it was a waste of time, at least for the regular player who don't use troop cards every single attack using an industrial base

There are two main problems with the live stream:
1. Ash
2. Paid troop promotions

fun fact, i tried asking them why they have basicly ignored us on the stream today and they banned me without acknowledging it. i made sure to make it as non toxic and genuine as possible JUST to not give them any actual reason to ban me, because i just figured that they might. I dont know what to say.

you cant ask them anything about the game, i ask them as nicely as i possibly could today why they seem to be ignoring us about how displeased we are with the updates and they banned me. i made it as non toxic and genuine as i could JUST to not give them any reason at all to ban me, i just had an idea they might do it, i just cant believe they actually did without acknowledging me or the question at all

So I watched a little bit, and I saw nothing but failure in their lovely attacks. I bothered watching I think 8, of which 2 managed to fully destroy the base, and 6 were total army wipes. What's worse they were all using mercenaries, 4 troop cards, and troop tactics. Even worse, none of them was an example of a profitable attack even pretending that troop tactics grow on trees.

Each of these attacks, including the two 'victories' would result in a minimum of an hour to retrain, and more like 2.5 for the losses. They were losing around 3000 oil per attack. So this pattern was neither sustainable nor profitable.

TinSoldier BHG_Muet You just showcased almost 2 hours worth of why the improvements you made were nothing but. These were attacks using the new improved barracks troops, heavy tanks, mercenaries, and troop tactics against generally poorly designed bases. Why should we think that the changes to the game have made it more engaging or fun, when even mediocre defenses are completely slaughtering a HT army with troop card support when considering that that very thing is one of the best remaining armies you can even field. Having watched you bleed what would have been over 24,000 oil and 24 troop tactics for maybe 2 million gold and food. This wasn't a demonstration of how fun things would be in wars, or the challenge of figuring out the best way to attack, or even to go resource hunting. All this really showcased is how an army that should have been more than capable of getting 5 stars on a base would fail again and again and again. I admit I didn't even notice if you managed to get the quick victory on either of the two sort of wins.

How do you expect us to play the game regularly if you can't even do so with profligate use of all the rarest resources available.

I figured they were going to do this, it just goes to prove that they don’t care at all. Everyone asked them to do CWA/AA attacks with no troop cards, maybe not mercenaries and sans all tactics except a few. What did they do? Use all of the P2W aspects they could, and they still failed to win most of the time with all of that stacked on. Shouldn’t that be a gigantic red flag for Nexon that the rebalance screwed up the game? I feel like the whole thread with Muet coming in was just them trying to save face, but it’s too late. Looks to me like all of that was empty.

There wasn't much new information Joe offered us. It was basically the same answers he gave here on forum. I expected I little more.
I didn't bother watching the last half an hour of the twitch, they was just promoting P2W troops, yeah, they nice and all that but I don't wanna pay £$€1.2 per TT, that's waaay too much.

Manifesto Nothing new, promoting troop cards of course 😃 And that's the goal of each live stream.
And of course his mustache was a success! 😍

All of the above is true but... Most players are casual, they log in sporadically, they don't progress quickly and they don't register forums accounts. According to the polish site, over half of the playerbase is gunpowder and below. Before someone says that is a bunch of abandoned accounts, nope: the polish site does not include long-time inactives... we had a player quit and about a month later her info dropped off of the polish site completely. As of now, only 22,268 are CWA, 90,133 are Atomic and 106,278 are Global, out of 3,230,310 total players. That is only 6.7% of the playerbase and unsurprisingly the ages most severely affected by the rebalance.

FYI 217,990 are IA, 253,131 are EA, 539,781 are GPA, 786,712 are MA, 924,473 are CA, and 289,224 are irons.

Obviously, the higher age players are the ones who spend the most and this rebalance was surgical in targetting those players, instead of the majority of casuals who aren't really affected. We don't have the figures on which segments of the community spend the most but I expect there is a distribution across all ages, with a concentration at the top. Those whales have apparently continued to spend, evidenced by the dev's ardent support of the rebalance, so I don't think anyone should expect big changes... especially ones targetting to the 6.7% of the playerbase who is most upset. It is a small and vocal minority. Adapt and be glad they didn't buff elephant archers! Best we can hope for is meaningful anti-cheat but like I posted about before, I think that is unlikely as it also drives whale spending...

This warning was sent my way from our good friend Tin, and I was the first to post regard this topic. Looks like he’s getting sensitive

GWKdog I think you are reading Dominations.pl wrong. Not sure when it drops inactive players, but it shows many with last updates back in June. Updates only happen for players in an alliance over a certain glory (13-14k?). A player never joining an alliance won't show at all, those who leave and don't rejoin will show based on the last time they were in one. That last update time is a decent proxy for activity though - I would guess the vast majority of active players will be in an active alliance, if only for troop donations.

I searched for GPA accounts under the age setting on the site, which I assume is how you got your numbers of each age, as they are close to matching. Then I sorted by update time (last time they were seen in an alliance by the system) as a proxy for activity levels. There are 2159 pages covering 539k players in GPA, 250 players per page. By page 250, every player hadn't been updated in 6 days. By 350 that is 3 months, by 500 5 months. So conservatively, even assuming all the players on the first 250 pages are still playing, that is 62.5k GPA players. About 10% of the total in the database. 90% of GPA players in the database have quit.

For medieval, page 250 has accounts that are 2 months inactive. So fewer of those than GPA, not more. Classical about the same. Iron age is so short it isn't worth looking at. Enlightenment at page 250 also has accounts almost 2 months inactive. Everyone of those ages has well under 60k active players, as does global.

Page 250 of the industrial search still has players with their last login today. So there appear to be a lot more active industrials than any lower age. Globals are a month inactive on page 250. For atomics, p250 had players with logins yesterday. So more active atomics than active GPA as well, close to the industrial numbers. CWA doesn't even have that many players, but a higher percentage are active. The first 80 of 89 pages are players in an alliance updated today or yesterday, so 20k active.

That tracks with my experience, which is that most new players join an alliance, have fun for a bit, and then realize that this game is impossibly long and quit in Gunpowder or maybe enlightenment. More of those who have reached industrial stick around, they have adjusted to the reality of slow steady progress.

Based on those numbers, I would estimate the size of the active player base at under 500k. The majority of those are industrial or above, global and up is probably at least 30-40%. Nexon won't release official numbers, but those don't look sustainable to me, especially in the context of releasing new content for the next age that less than 20k players would be eligible for if released today. And anything that hurts industrial ages and up is hurting most of their active players.

Based on personal experience with IA alts, this rebalance hit IA hard. Much harder than my main CWA account, which already had maxed HTs and planes. I have dropped all of my alts now, they sit in that abandoned group. My main I play with free retrains a few battles a day. And I have stopped warring, as have half of our team's CWA accounts. Make of that what you will, but the rebalance wasn't surgical at all, it hit almost every active player hard.

Very good analysis. It’s interesting how players can make more reasonable conclusions based on an open website than developers based on their in-game data.
