University research poll

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to do a little survey here to reckon how many people in alliances are actually using University.

I do it whenever I have workers. Like right now, I don't have any food based stuff to upgrade anymore, and am pouring all my gold into walls. So I queue some food upgrades in the uni. It's a nice filler in this way, and typically the resource costs are low compared to other upgrades. You just have to be sure that you can do without your workers for a while.

Before Atomic age I always had 2 researches going, but that's less important now

Because there are so many new things to build/upgrade in Atomic Age that are more important. Gotta upgrade mills to get more upgrades, etc. Once things have stabilized I'll probably go back to uni, but not for several months.

Like Quovatis (who flatten my base!) i researched continuosly until i become atomic, now I need to use my new found atomic power to laboriously construct a large windmill to hold more apples....

Some atomic age additions call for specific uni upgrade though. For instance if you plan to develop and master an APC based army, maxing the infantery buff in uni is an option to consider. With the 15% buff for connected defensive building, maxing the mortars and tower attacks (easily available since it's in the first tier) is also interesting, if not done already.

I had voted "I don't continously research but I do it whenever their are spare workers", because I didn't have that option then, but, my actual vote is for "I rarely research, as I can't spare workers, but, I know it's important and will get to it". Can't change the vote

I havent researched a single item at the university. Im level 163, almost fully upgraded IA, and have yet to find the time to allocate a single citizen to the university. I find it quite absurd to have to use citizens at the university, and I will almost certainly never use it!!

If u research artillery and shooters that's pretty much everyone's goal from university
Tank, walls, and other good researches can wait a lil bit

Listen bro, u should start from now, put 6 workers, in 1st and 3rd book (tower and mortars that lead to artillery and shooters researches)
If u do the math, maxing those researches is better than upgrading the units themselves

I've got 2 days until I start the marble upgrade towards Howitzer damage and working away on Archer damage. I'd say these two are he best for my French nation so I can max my offence. When they finish I can start the long trek towards Tank health.

The other thing about Uni upgrades is as long as you keep one spare worker it gives you lots of time to work on your walls.
