Hi everyone,
No doubt this has been mentioned many times.
Aragon Archers is a low to mid alliance with 15+k glory, our highest players are Cold War age at 250 medals I’ve tried many ways to get the weight right ie keeping medal counts down, low defensive bases even changing the number of players in war from 30 down to 10.
We are faced with digital age players level 270+,what chance have we.
Also it really disappoints me the amount of glory we are loosing as this should be the other away around when faced with these alliances as we have no chance of wining.
Contacted CS on many occasions with the same automated answer.
Rant over from Mavrick leader of Aragon Archers
lets bring the fun back in the game please.

Glory calculations are based only upon each alliances ranking. Nothing else. Yes, most of the times are unfair. The current glory system doesnt take into account the relative offensive and defensive rating of each alliance.

In addition, the matchmaking algorithm is not perfect. Everyone gets mismatches. We all have to accept it and do what we can before pressing the Big Reb Button of WW!!
This means that we try to become better attackers by doing many friendlies, we have a good line up of players that spreads among the ages, we form a solid WW plan for attacks and coalitions and we give our 100% in every WW battle. That's all.

P.S. medals do not play any role in WW matchmaking.

I'm constantly surprised by people who think that medals make any difference to the matchmaking process - as far as I'm aware this has never been the case. The last changes announced by Muet said that as well as searching by war weight (offensive/defensive capabilities of each member of the war team) that they would also now take into account recent wins/losses. If you lose a lot then you should eventually start facing easier opponents.

As wrathchild_78 has mentioned, glory wins/losses depend on how much glory you and your opponent have to begin with. It might be that you have a much stronger team but have suffered a lot of losses recently so your glory is low. You opponent is weaker but has won a lot of glory by beating other weak teams. In this case the weaker team will probably lose and also lose lots of glory, because they were artificially too high to start with. But to the weaker team this doesn't look fair - they face a much stronger team but stand to lose much more glory if they lose!

Yes, sometimes matchmaking sucks. There are far too many alliances of different sizes starting their searches at different times for there to be good match-ups all the time. We are also a mid-table team (who don't take war too seriously) We sometimes have losing streaks and then we'll win like ten in a row - that's just how the cookie crumbles. But it can be a bit demoralising if you are constantly losing. I've suggested before that one way to improve the system would be to have all the wars start at set times each day, 8 hours apart (e.g.. 800hrs/1600hrs/2400hrs), Then a much larger pool of alliances would be available for better match-ups. Just an idea....

Until the system changes, one way to ensure fairer match-ups is to stop and restart your war search regularly (every hour or so). This is because the longer the war search goes on the wider the search parameters become and the more likely you are to face a silly war.....

It took us a while to get to 20K Glory. Once we got there match ups became impossible. We lost 4 Wars in a row with 400 Glory at stake each time. All those alliances we've faced had waaay less Glory than us but were waay stronger than us. We were favourites to win just because we had more Glory than them.
So we didn't stand a chance. Too many DAs and SAs for my Atomic members to handle.

Matchmaking is a joke lately. Big Joe Muet haven't been seen on this forum since January. 🙄 Apparently he was supposed to fix matchmaking.

Yeah, right. I'm not holding my breath.

Current matchmaking system does not allow above average alliances to complete for top 200. It's really bad. It took us a long time to reach 20K with 20-40 Glory at stake each time, then we started facing alliances we, even if we tried, stood no chance of beating. 4 Wars in a row with 400+ Glory at stake each time.
So it took us a couple of months to reach top 200 then it took us about a week to lose it all. 🙄
