The Tim Train message was a good bit of reading this weekend. Encouraging at least.

If the post is proves to be accurate and we see a swift positive change, someone should invite whatwhat back (if he hasn't moved on too much). He was a very useful contributor.

Also...

I do think that it's a strange coincidence that there are few "new" users singing the praises of how BHG can't put a foot wrong and how awesome everything is, etc.

I don't think the moderators and developers could have written the comments better themselves... oh wait...

It's interesting that posters such as Christopher Jackson, Elizabeth Jones, and SteveySteve...have generic "real" sounding names. I suggest the next batch of names could be "John Smith" or "Anne Brown". Wouldnt surprise me if this posting gets deleted. They have already deleted a whole bunch of my postings. I got banned last week...first for "inappropriate language" then it was changed to "thread hijacking"...so they couldn't even make their mind up over that. Anyway, it's Nexon's forum, they can ban and delete whoever they want. If they want a forum full of fake nice comments rather honest feedback from money paying customers then that's up to them.

@Aussie guy, please understand that these kinds of comments stifle the growth of our community. Let's try to maintain proper forum etiquette and make everyone feel welcome, regardless of their opinions.

I guess that's a warning? After playing the game since December and posting on these forums since January, I'm hardly stifling the growth of "our" forum. If you think real feedback from a money paying customer needs to be silenced...then probably best to ban me permanently. If you do ban me, please let me know whether it's for "inappropriate language" or "thread hijacking" or some other rule you apply inconsistently.

If youre talking about etiquette make sure you have that as well.. When I talk to you on BHG fb do you think its proper for your staff to say these lines to an upset customer? "Don't be cranky in forums"..Just always remember no matter how upset a customer is, you have to choose the right words to say..After all customer is the essence of your job's existence..And once you decided to ban me from this forum for being outspoken, makesure that you are well prepared for the consequences of doing that..

Also, those newbies never response on their game stats, how long they play, etc. real new players usually write: I am early medieval, enjoying the game so far, blah-blah. They're more interested to post their layout too. So if we fall in the conspiracy, I think hired mods just wanted to show their work influence on forum in some report, so some of their friends could easily help them. Nothing much, but more cheating in such case. Anyways, just because there are some real happy players and max walls legit players, let's accept this as is, so noone gets banned for nothing. I am more than sure that after initial enjoyment of new content, we'll get back to the discussion of broken state of the game directly with Tim rofl )))

I thought most new players will usually post in the "New to Dominations" section to introduce themselves?

Hi folks, please keep in mind that we shouldn't make assumptions about new posters. It is indeed toxic or alienating to make assumptions right out of the gate when a new member joins. While some new players may choose to post their stats or screenshots or a welcome message in the "New to DomiNations" forum, this is not a requirement. We want to forge alliances here, no pun intended - i swear!, and not drive away those that genuinely enjoy playing the game. Thanks!

Well, Neko, you could see those posts. They called us 'ragers', claim that our gameplay is bad, etc don't you find it kinda toxic and arrogant for new members? I am not surprised you didn't react there, but reacted here, though.

You're telling the wrong people off. Have you heard of "flame baiting"? On most forums it will result in a warning...for your information fame baiting is...1) A message posted to a public Internet discussion group, such as a forum, newsgroup or mailing list, with the intent of provoking an angry response (a "flame") or argument over a topic the "troll" (original poster provoking angry response) often has no real interest in, and finds humour, or entertainment in reactions.

2) Flame bait can be a person unfamiliar with a certain discussion/topic on an internet discussion group, possibly saying things that would provoke an angry, teasing, or overall negative response.

So here's my theory:
A player has really lost his rag with Nexon and BHG. Totally frustrated with a lack of action on AI improvements, cheats, etc.

They have decided to post some very sarcastic sycophantic messages to vent this frustration. We take it that mods have deliberately placed the feedback to give a positive impression, but this might not be the case. I think the mods are ok (if a bit quiet), but we give them too much credit here.

The fact that we hear more from the mods defending these "new" forum members than anything else, may be the ultimate irony!

Yes, your theory could be right. These posters are probably not BHG/Nexon employees. They might even be just one poster using multiple IDs who is just trying to stir up trouble for Nexon and the forums. It would indeed be the ultimate irony for Nexon moderators to defend these posts. Good observation, sjb!
