For anyone who has followed this Forum post, https://forum.nexonm.com/forum/nexonm-games/dominations/bugs-and-known-issues/524830-screen-lag they know many of us suffer from extreme lagging, sluggishness in the game to the point of being unplayable. My personal solution is to quit the game, go into the app settings, clear the cache and force quit the game.
I've noticed the cache size is tiny. I have only a couple of other games on my device ( 9 month "old" Sony Z5 ).

Clash of Clans.....Cache..169 MB
Bejewelled..........Cache...36 MB
Dominations........Cache..656 KB

Could this be the source of the poor perfomance?

For me, well I do that also, but I also have to watch my android phone battery temperature. So I usually remove it, wait for it to cool, put it back in, and turn it on again and play it.

A cache is to store local variables for quick access, so 656k isn't small. I'm more intrigued why CoC takes so much - could be after you log in and peruse your builders, etc it carries on loading 100's of bases in the background, Goblins, recent attackers, etc which is why it seems so snappy when you go to visit a base, rather than the 'wading through treacle' experience we get, even looking at your library or war map.

My first computer had 16k of memory in total, and that included the display RAM.
