Why no Spain(?)

Is short of interesting that among the nations you can play Spain is not there while it was the greatest Empire of history. Been able to play England and not the nation of the Philip II and Charles V of Spain is kinda an insult to Global History...

Australia is missing too. Our Empire covers a whole continent, and unlike all the other nations in this game, we are still going strong. Please add us.

Canada is also missing. I'm sorry that we haven't taken over the world yet..

Spain has definitely had a large imprint on not just the history books, but the entire globe. It was a difficult choice not to include them in the initial group of nations in the game. There were many nations that we wish we could have included. We limited the initial number of nations so that we could provide the best experience possible at launch. However, as we go forward with planning future updates, adding new nations is one of the topics that comes up fairly often.

Historically speaking, I still think Persia would be the best choice. Not saying it would be my favourite choice, however it would be historically appropriate.

Spain had the world's largest empire at one point until England took over. Spain ruled over virtually all of South America (excluding Brazil), Mexico, Midwestern America, the Philippines, Some African colonies, and then when Spain briefly took over the Portuguese throne in the 16th century it took over all the Portuguese colonies (Brazil) too.

The fact that Spanish is the third most spoken language in the world today says something.

Besides Spain, Russia, Persia, Egypt, India should also be playable nations.

I find it weird Germany is a nation when it wasn't one until late 1800s.

Its just silly to complain about which nations should have been available to choose. The game is very new and will probably include others later. Many nations could have been chosen as for the starting seven and you can use all sorts of rational to justify them.

There would be too many options if all nations who once had greatness were included. If you include Spain then you would have include the Dutch, and then the Normans,...... It can go on forever.

The reason for maybe including nations who only became great later (German) is to compensate for the space ages to come?

But agree with Damascus, just enjoy the game.

Spain really should have been the first option.....really crazy its not in the game at all..........

spain discovered america? no they didnt columbus did and he aint spanish.(although i know he was working for them)
