I think there should be some sort of ranking system for surviving troops in battles like Civ. Each soldier that survives could be awarded a bit of an attack or defensive boost along with the chance of going private, colonel, etc. Or perhaps taking troops and grouping them into small specialized...

Correct. We technically hit the space age when we started throwing satellites up there. But i think they just mean the future when they say space age. I wouldnt mind seeing a post apocalyptic age and then we can start all over! #RealHumanHistory

That may happen but there has to be otther options to add to make joining an alliance worth it. Here are some of my suggestions... A request defenders option. Perhaps some sort of "Occupy X's base." Then you can send a certain amount of troops to anothers base for a certain amount of time. And...
