Think about it, having to rediscover all the world's tech, revolutions from Northern European nations to Koreans, Romans and back. The Chinese can have the colosseum, the eifel tower, whereas the French can have the Angkor Wat. You can have warriors defend industrial age rome, or machine gunners...

Judging how you can have warriors defending a modern day roman empire that never fell, this should be the least of your concerns.
