Just tried it twice and looted in total 80k gold and 40k food, very nice tactic - it's just allowed me to start upgrading to cataphracts now so thanks a lot!!

I have now progressed into the Classical Age over the weekend and rather than mess about with my successful Donut base, I have just expanded it - obviously I have a lot of upgrades to work through but the general layout should remain the same. Any feedback would be great...

The guy who attacked you will have a similar medal count to you which is why he got matched up against you. I am Iron Age and come up against Bronze, Iron and Classical ages because they all have a low medal count like me.

Yea I've been working hard at it, just started my builders on advancing to the next age. Surprisingly no one has even attempted to raid my base since I changed to this layout, even when I've had plenty of loot to take. I might swap the resources and archer towers around if I get any...

Thanks guys, on other games such as clash of clans I often keep my town centre on the outside to minimise resource loss (farming base essentially). Any base layouts that will be effective for defense as well as protecting resources(hybrid)?
