I'm always trying to tie my workers and resources to the days when the events shifts but to my surprise there was no event this week... is there a way to know before hand if there gonna be one or not so I can decide properly what to do with workers that week? I had them idle for 2 days waiting...

Is the 1k crowns a one time thing, meaning you pay that and unlock the second research forever or do I have to pay it eveytime I want another research to be made at the same time?
