Not like they could’ve reduced the costs and times for defenses or god forbid nerf the event troops. Oh no Froggy. By all means call us whiners.

It's certainly a different way to play the game now. None of our wars have come anywhere close to max stars since Stage 3, and anything 3+ stars against a max 3D base is considered a good score. Paying to win isn't even working; in our current war they're attacking us with EA on every attack and failing miserably. I am an attacker and always go offensive coals, but even my base has defended a few times (rarely happened pre-balance).

To me, the main downside is that underdog alliances with strong attackers but no beefy bases at the top can no longer compete. I have faced many leaderboard alliances where their top guys were only in the 260s, but they had a ton of skilled (but rushed) CWA and atomic attackers. Those will be weeded out, and only the heavyweights will remain. Speed attackers are also weeded out by these changes, as time tiebreakers will be extremely rare.

Sounds to me like it's working exactly as intended. (by Nexon)

It doesn't really matter what you say, the fact remains that people are abandoning the game out of anger or frustration. I haven't been attacked in 3 days and a good chunk of my defenses are down for upgrading, and I used to get attacked and 5 starred regularly, and my base isn't even that good. I disabled my world war access in my alliance because I don't want to redesign my army every war with each new update so I'm waiting to see how this all plays out.

The way things are going, by the end of stage 5 the game will be a ghost town. Even if BHG and Nexon somehow makes combat work again people won't come back, they'll feel betrayed and ignored and will just find something else to do with their time. Mobile games don't get returning customers, they get new ones who eventually decide to just leave.
