Lol this change was intended to encourage crown usage was my original point but it got lost in the interwebs somewhere.

on top of what you all said that is correct, I have just a question: said that protection move from lasting 1 minute to me (with university powerups) to 15 secs..that can be even fine, but where are all my powerups? Are you saiying that it last 15 sec with 20% duration included?
Changes are good, but they cannot be so huge because it impacts players way of playing. F.i. I was counting on the protection using two in war, plus one med, and they basically cover me the whole attacking time. Now it is all different and I will need to adapt my attack strategy.
I don't know who is right and who is wrong, but without any doubt Nexon kept the biggest and worst changes for the last step, moreover close to xmas so none gets angry!!

i can understand that people who used to use protect would be pretty angry with the sudden change, but this sounds like they had rightful reason to change it. covering your army for the whole battle should be left to blessings, not tactics

if that is the problem though, i think it would be more fun if protect lasted even shorter, but provided more protection. ie, instead of 15s at 50%, how about 10s of 75%? or how’s 5s of 90% protection? cuz 15s of 50% is really neither here or there

There was no rightful reason. The problem is they made the game so hard you can not beat bases anymore. The protect tactic did not guarantee a win just gave you a chance. Just lost 4 hours and 20 minutes worth of tactics on a 224 global. Should have been able to beat it with max cw troops but nope. Lost now I’m done for the entire day. The goal is to get idiots to crown new troops and tactics but I am not an idiot.

In hindsight protect may have been op, but nexon has effectively made it worthless. They need to increase the diameter maybe make it similar to blitzkrieg so it doesnt require you to rally your troops or bump it up to 50% of what it was.

I dont think many people were using 2 in 1 battle, seems like a waste to me, I only found it effective during my initial deployment to give my troops an extra push for a quick victory.

@ pckrn: (covering your army for the whole battle should be left to blessings, not tactics): I disagree. Standard protection started from 30 sec so it will not cover the whole battle but half; it was my choice to develop it thru the university bringing it up to 45 sec or more I don't remember

@ kilgore: (I dont think many people were using 2 in 1 battle, seems like a waste to me,) you maybe right, the point is that there no right or wrong. It is just a personal choice. the extra boost is given by the colosseum, the protection along with the med, help your troop to last longer or at least not to die with two cannon shots.

What I'm saying is that change is good, but it must be smoother...they want to rebalance the protection? fine...do it in 2/3 steps, not in one from 1 minute to 15 sec!

The thruth is that it is hard to attack other bases, but at the same time you have much chances on defense. We only need to re-arrange our way of playing...

Have 7 MK7 Heavy Tanks with +40% health boost in the Museum really had any problem crushing bases? The only thing giving those armies problems was the defending Heavy Tanks with 80k health, which has been reduced 30%! Yay!! Yes instead of counting on 50s of protect you lost 20s of time... but now it can be split too two groups of Heavy Tanks or half now, half later when they get close to anti tank guns. That being said maybe protect should be a few seconds longer or have +15% more reduction.

Or just carry some sabotages to stop defending tanks/heavy tanks and maybe 1 protect for when your Heavy Tank army gets into the thick of battle.

Overall you have more options.... at least the design team seems to be trying to fix it. Lets give them ideas. The commando trap ignore is a result of that, maybe with a few more tweaks the commando plus Heavy Tanks can be deadly.


Just follow the commando's logic, ignore Walmart deals head straight to the milk... duhh.... Also don't shop on an empty stomach or without a list. ie. Don't buy dumb crown offers. Know what you want.

You guys are really milking that comparison for all worth.

protect was probably the main thing keeping me from moving to a ht army. I guess if nexon wants us all to move to factory troops theyve succeeded. At least oil seems to be more plentiful sense this last balance and losing a factory army is no longer a disaster. Also I now never get attacked, so my reserves are piling up.

I was just questioning if people that have HT Mk7's were having issues taking down bases even with the new protect tactic nerf. You're right I'm now 223 AA lol :p
