Expect some changes to raiding. It’s a little too easy to take resources from players this way . Yes, it’s fun to take a bunch of resources for little to no work, but it’s not fun to lose them that way.

This is not entirely true. I don't mind losing resources at all because I know I can easily get them back in my next few battles. If you mean that you are going to nerf cavalry raiders, it's the wrong way to go.

To rebalance, what you should do is:

1. Fix the storage blessing bug. No point is saying it's not fun to lose resources while there is actually a feature to save it but it doesn't work!

2. The 50% destruction star for battle should cover 50% destruction OR 50% resources stolen. What is not fun is losing all your resources and not getting a peace treaty. You should prevent people from being attacked multiple times after they've lost a certain amount of resources.

Being able to take resources from players easily is the only way this game will survive. How else are you going to keep people interested in the game when they need to save 5 million gold for an upgrade for instance? And this will go up and up when global age, space age is released. If it's too hard to get resources to upgrade, people will just quit.

We think the game is most fun when it rewards PvP battling, and wanted to be sure we were giving appropriate rewards from attacking.

If this is really true, then you should give way more rewards for league bonuses (doubling it at least), especially if you plan on cutting raiding.

It's very appreciated that you share ideas with us. I just hope this is not an announcement and rather a work in progress where we can still influence the direction. Being able to loot so you can upgrade your building is fun. If you make that too hard, people will just quit playing.

Could you elaborate on this? I find it funny that you say the animal blessing was nerfed because you intended for resources to be gained via PVP/raiding. Then in the same breath you say gaining resources is too easy via PVP/raiding?! It's no fun to be steamrolled by cheaters and see an endless parade of maxed out walls and IA bases when attacking. Yet, you seem in no hurry to fix that problem. It's no fun to constantly get the same opponents over and over again when "nexting" for an opponent, yet you haven't fixed matchmaking. And now you want to, without fixing the cheater problem, give cheaters an even bigger ADVANTAGE by taking away any means for honest players to keep up with them. Let's also not forget that it is the CHEATERS that are flooding the economy with easy loot. You are looking for problems in all of the wrong places, STOP development, stop the needless updates and features. Fix the PROBLEM, which is and always has been the rampant cheating. Make this game an ounce more tedious and frustrating and you will see a stream of players quitting, with me leading the pack.

Thanks for the updates. I think it'd be great to sit down and have a necessary amount of time to deal with problems. We have a overly stressed out community and no way to develop fans that back the developers on many of the decisions. The Industrial age should give you breathing room to fix things a bit. Cheaters ruin your more active players' enthusiasm for climbing. They've already seen a cheated maxed out base. They already see where they're going. It's not fun for them.

Aside from that. I think it easy to say that raiders/training blessing is almost manditory for raiding for some. Playing the Germans, I found that steam rolling poorly designed bases with a diverse army was more fun than mass raiders. Nothing matches the German army in terms of speed and power. ;)

But training blessing is so good that I can't imagine ages when I didn't have it. I don't want to see TB gone, but maybe it can be more expense because it's so powerful and increase the time. Either way. If you try to fix raiders/TB, some people are going to quit because of multiple problems over the baby stages of the game.
Training blessing = loot, progression, and possible extra trade goods... = training blessing = loot, progression, possible extra trade goods =... training blessing.

That being said, the experience totally changes in higher level play. More cheater bases and well defended bases. TB = just more attempts at getting medals. (Which is maybe the more healthy way it is used.)

Training blessing is a great blessing, but very few compete with how good it is. For those who really love the game, it gives us the ability to play more often without the need of buying crowns. And that's actually a pretty awesome thing. That being said, obviously, even the most beautiful things have dark shadows.

Good luck and looking forward to more insight from the design team!

Want to make the game fun again? Fix the bugs, Fix the crashes, Fix the A.I., Fix the cheaters and Buff the units. Constant nerfing isn't going to make the game anymore playable because legit players are being squeezed from Cheaters and your constant nerfing. Your game hasn't even take shape yet. Your content hasn't even been completely released yet. But yet you keep nerfing the units. Where are your experiences from designing RTS games on PC?

Use the Rock-Paper-Scissors concept! If you have certain units that you felt over-powered, tune or buff a specific defense structure or unit to specifically counter those units. Like why do you need to nerf the Cavalry? You can easily introduce special traps or make certain traps do more damage to them. Same now for raiders, make certain defense buildings/defenders/traps do 2x or 3x damage to them.

Constant nerfing of troops is just a lazy way of designing a game or implementing 'a fix'.

P.S. Sorry, I had to let it go. The frustration has been accumulating inside me for too long.

Least likely = tb nerf...somewhat likely = raider nerd....most likely = close app means u dont keep resources so no more easy raiding exposed gold storage then closing for no loss.

Close app fix will make rich bases richer, so buffed brits may become a powerhouse ;)

I never train raiders in my barracks and very very rarely use them in my mercenary camp. Mostly when I battle I try to take out all defenses to retain troops and hopefully obtain loot in the process. I can understand why people choose to use armies made up of mostly/all raiders......the price of some upgrades are very high (mainly walls), so its easier to obtain them that way. I'm not going to knock anyones style of play because I'm sure it serves a purpose to that individual, but for me I like the actual battle and trying to level every base I attack. Anything less than that defeats the purpose of playing the game for me. I also feel that this game allows players to advance through ages too fast. I know thats hard to control since players can just pay to advance much faster. I buy crowns but rarely use them to speed up upgrades with the exceptions being barracks and mercenary camps that hinder play because they need to be functional in order to battle. Everything else I could wait on unless I need citizens for another upgrade or hunting. Lastly, one thing that I feel is a strongpoint for this game are the unique troops for each nation. I got kind of bored playing similar games in which everyone had the same exact troops fighting each other. I was hoping that they would have done the libraries this way also. Although they share some of the same technologies, each nation would have research in their library that applied to that nation only.

100% agree with this post. I think this is the correct solution and much better than nerf. Providing anti-raider method is much more interesting and it tests the player's ability.

My advice will be, fixing cheater first. To fix or balance anything before cheating is fixed is going in vain, even it is a correct adjustment. Because it is only correct basing on assumption that everybody play fair. So please, freeze all adjustment first, fix cheating!

I just checked my defensive log.

Here it is. At 2100 medals, the last 3 attacks were 5,4,6 tactics used. Easy raiding, indeed. So, may be tactics should be nerfed first of all? And made built faster through blessing or naturally? Or at least one faster per nation? Or at least this easy, no work cheat raiding should not be a reason for non-paying features nerfs?

Removing all combat blessings all together would make balancing army units easier - HC would be just HC, not HC + Armor + Weapon = Too much so nerf HC.

Then tactics - as these are limited duration in battle, easier to tweak time/effect, and faster build time. And if not compounded with blessings, more tactical. Because at the moment HC + Armor + Weapon + Protect = way OP, so nerf HC some more to compensate.

So well said. Our alliance has lost 3 players who got sick of spending and playing fair, just to be punished. I have at least four more who are considering dropping the game. We fought hard together and chat is becoming less about strategy and teamwork and all about frustration. Complaints get canned responses--often not even directly related to the issue--and then the issue is closed with no solution. But they have time to reduce the things that are liked. When my alliance goes, so do I.

It shouldn't be loss,
But it shouldn't give attacker resources and trigger defender's traps as used

Yes, but if you have unbuffed stong units and such OP buffs, you get super OP attack. I'd rather have limitation of two tactics/two blessings per attack, instead of nerfs. And the forth defence I had today was also 6 demolitions, so it's 4 in a row flooded with OP tactics

Thanks for the great game. I've been playing since December. For me, the greatest annoyance in this game is the big number of very high level bases (160plus) that appear on my multiplayer search, offering 1 medal for the win and 39 for the loss. The vast majority of these bases belong to hackers and cheaters and Nexon/BHG know it! Your troop nerfing and adjustments to the medal reward system has served to actually give the cheaters a boost in this game. I'm a level 146 player and I find attacking a level 163 base a total waste of time and a big nerf on fun. If I take out 48% of a base, I shouldn't lose 100% of the 39 medals. Many players in my alliance have quit this game because they battle hard for hours to gain medals and lose the lot in one lopsided battle. Please...start banning obvious cheats (there's stacks of them) and fix the battle matching and medal reward system.
