Had a member In my alliance actually fall for the false "Admin" message advertising to collect your free crowns. When he realized what happened he reported it and let customer service know he was duped. I hope they don't take undue action against the poor players who were tricked into this thinking it was an actual administration message. I specially hope they take into consideration those who reported what happened and asked staff to remove thier ill gotten gains before they start handing out bans. Considering the outrageous amount of cheaters still lurking about with maxed out Industrial Age bases, I hope this security breach is treated fairly in regards to the players who might have fallen for it.

Same thing happened in my alliance. Someone thought it was the dev team. Luckily I and other players were there to set em straight.

If players contact us to have the Crowns removed, we will certainly take that into account. However, please direct them to the very clear message here about giving out player IDs and purchasing through third parties.

There is also a clear FAQ located here: Permalink

"Into account" So hammer people that come forward, while hacks are safe to lurk in shadows. Treat paying customers like cheats is a wonderful business plan. Customer service ticket created.

Anyone who was "duped" by those messages either knowingly cheated and is trying to play dumb, or is a complete and utter moron.
