First of all I'm here only because I find this game less cancerous than others and that it has genuine moments of fun and excitement. I find most of these in and around alliances and battles. Due to the fact that I have yet to unlock the entirety of the depth of the combat and battling so I wish to speak on Alliance. I know they've been a work in progress and that new features still need tweaking. In view of this I think that it would be beneficial to merely have this post as a brain storm not a demand or wish. Here are a few things that could be good for alliances:

First: Conflicts:
A post a little while back had a nice idea and it sparked a greater idea in my brain. The idea formed around occasional bad things happening in the game. Like an earthquake that damaged buildings HP. Then I thought why stop there? Why not make a it so an alliance can work together to overcome such a conflict. The idea boils down to. Another way to play the game without being good at wars. Here are some examples I thought about.

Earthquake: The alliance is struck by an earthquake buildings are damaged and food out in the wild is scarce(-x% on fruit tree's yields). To end this conflict gather X amount of food total from alliance members within a time limit. Receive a reward. IF unsuccessful debuff goes away and no reward.

Horde invasion: The alliance is warned of an incoming horde of peoples. The townsfolk are frightened. Wall -X% Hp and -X% Hp defenders. To end this conflict defend alliance bases from X amount of attackers. Receive a reward.

Stagflation: Our economic system is plagued with no growth and rising inflation. Caravan -X% gold and road -X% income. To end this conflict upgrade x amount of buildings Alliance wide.

ETC. ETC.

This way people have more fun with alliance and have more benefits to joining them. It also allows those who have different wonders feel like their importance isn't overshadowed by "best fighting wonders".

Second: More Civ Bonus's:

I would like to extend to you the idea that in every alliance one should want to have every civ in their alliance. Why? Because that way your system of goods for the embassy isn't so random at times. The easiest way to do this would be a way of exchanging national goods with the entire alliance. However I think it would do better if you gave each civ an alliance bonus. That is, a bonus tied to the civ to help the alliance in some way as to make it valuable to the alliance as a whole. Some brainstorming again:

France: +1(X*age) pop for World War defense donations, +1/2(X*age) pop for World War attack.

British: +5%(X*age) World War Loot, +1(X) mercenaries for World War attack.

Germans: +X% AT per star during World War, -X(*per age)% Rally cool down for World War.

ETC.

Third: Civ Mercenaries:
Many of the civ's, in the time frame covered by the game, have many named units that have potential to serve as mercenaries in war. So why not make civ specific merc's for cost of national goods?
Example's

French Foreign legion: cost 5 Cheese gain powerful heavy infantry in industrial age

Landskecht: Cost 4 Salt: Gain powerful heavy infantry in Renaissance era.

Naginata Sohei: Cost 3 Silk. Gain powerful heavy infantry in the Medieval era.

Etc. Etc.

Well those were my idea's if you have comment go right ahead I may or may not answer them.
