Hello everybody! and welcome to my first tips (and post) , be aware that i might edit it and add more info.:)

Keys
(word) : Extra info.
{ name } : User suggested tip.
Ballista tower : Classical age tower which deals a huge amount of damage but have a low rate of fire.
Castle : Medieval age structure that deals a lot of damage and summons generals for defending or attacking.
Redoubt: Gunpowder age tower that spreads bullets making it good for killing large amounts of troops.
Library : Classical age building that allows you to boost your economy , army , defending buildings.

First of all , Why would you choose the British nation?

Pros
1- They increase the loot stolen during attacks by 15% Ex: instead of 1,000 gold & food you get 1,150.
2- Their unique unit has +1 range which makes it able to snipe ballista towers , castles , and redoubt.
3- When building a command post it will spawn 4 archers that will snipe the attackers.
4- If you like raiding and looting then this nation is yours.

Cons
1- Requires active players to receive full nation benefits.
2- Excluding the defending archers , there is no defensive bonuses.

Lets start with the tips and tricks:

Iron age :

1- Do not rely on farms and caravans for your main income , instead keep raiding other players who store a lot of resources.
2- Surround the command post with walls (no gates needed as they are ranged and have +1 range) then it would act as a powerful tower.
3-Farms , caravans , roads should be the last thing you need to upgrade (excluding walls) instead , upgrade your army and defenses.
4-Always use Fortification blessings to gain more defense and Armor blessings to boost your offense.
5-Any Wonder would be OK.
6- { GailWho says rallies are not suggested when attacking , only use when troops stray too far or near a catapult }

Classical age :
1- Always keep your armory and library researching and builders working.
2- In the library research the defense techs (Blue) and the offense techs (Red) before the economic (Yellow).
3- Use your Elite Longbow men to snipe the ballista towers before using your cataphracts.
4- Tower blessings should be used to increase the defending powers
5- The Notre Dame reduces library and unit upgrades which would make you conserve more resources.
6- { Ravenlord says cataphracts soak a lot of damage so use them to aid your armies }

Medieval age :
1-Use your King's Longbow men to snipe castles.
2- Start making heavy cavalry raiders and loot food from farms because upgrades start to become expensive.
3- Supply carts are your friends , you don't want to lose your troops do you? { _Flash_ suggests it might be too early to get your hands on them }
4- Build a castle and start training generals to gain more offense and defense.
5- Use Loot blessings and upgrade zeal 1 at the library to improve looting.

Gunpowder age :
1-Build the Taj Mahal to increase loot stealing to buff your nation's boost. { Ravenlord suggests Versailles , Angkor Wat to boost your defense }
2-upgrade your ballista towers to Cannon towers (ballista tower lvl 3) and catapults to Mortars (catapult lvl 4) to scare and ward off invaders.
3-build redoubts to kill numbers of invaders.
4-always protect your storage because upgrades start to cost +1,000,000.
5-Upgrade Yeomen and Mortar troops to gain more power (and arm your troops with Guns! omg). { BV123 suggests Bombards instead of Mortars }
6- Use your Yeomenry to snipe the redoubts before using your armies.

Loot increase :28%
15% Nation bonus
10% Loot blessing
1% Zeal lvl1
2% Taj Mahal

Thank you for surviving this long paragraph and if i missed anything please tell me :p

5-Upgrade yeomen and mortars to gain more power (and arm your troops with Guns! omg).

Just a tip for your tip....if you are referring to troop mortars, forget it. At that age, the only troops the British should prioritise are the rifles, bombard and healers.

Mortar troops are low on the priority list even for those higher up in the Ages.

Good post - although looting strategies could just about apply to all nations.

As BV said, prioritize your attacking army first - the rest at your leisure. Not sure about the Taj - l prefer Versailles for extra armour or Angkor (l like the trade goods & defender healing)

Welcome, MrQuail! Glad to see someone opening up their presence on the forum with a post to help others! Appreciate that!

Excellent points! Adding my view points.
The +1 range is more about better survival of troops in the battle. I define fire power as the product of the damage a unit is able to deal out, multiplied by the duration for which they stay alive and deal out damage. That's the huge plus I see with the British archer.

In Any age, it's better to research the offensive technologies (Red) ahead of the defensive technologies (Blue) at the library. Same goes with troop upgrades ahead of defensive building upgrades.
Medieval age might be too early to train supply carts for battles. It's better and cheaper to lose archers and retrain them cheaply and quickly, rather than risk losing supply carts, and having to retrain them for longer. You'll need the firepower from archers to start taking down elaborate bases. GP age and above can start seeing benefits from supply carts.
Agree with Ravenlord! Versailles boosts your hit points of the barrack troops - it can make the difference between ranged infantry troops surviving taking two shots from catapults/mortars against one, giving time for healers in the higher ages to heal those troops.
Agree with BV123! Mortar troops aren't worth focusing on. Bombards and shooters do it way better.

Cheers and happy gaming! :)

I use brits more for their ability to 5 star, the extra loot is just an additional bonus. The extra loot doesn't really matter too much later on in the game when your maxed out and all of your workers are busy

Hi , I suggested the Taj Mahal just to boost the nation's bonus , because i like to buffing nation's bonuses .
But Versailles and Angkor Wat are also good and may be better than the Taj Mahal , it depends on what the player wants :)

Hi there , well you could 5 star with any nation and some might be better at it (Romans etc..).
I think players choose the British nation for its loot increase :)

I agree with kilgore. The loot bonus rapidly starts to be insignificant compared to the ability to win battles without losing troops. +50% more raids/hour gives a much larger bonus than +15%/raid. The range advantage for Brits is thus the key reason to choose them. And for similar logic (as pointed out by flash and Rlord) versailles is far superior to Taj Mahal + versailles acts as a key defensive structure with a slow down effect that remains after the building is destroyed.

Thanks, MrQuail! One minor clarification though. The primary benefit of Versailles is the 10% health boost it provides to both attacking and defending troops. The slowdown effect on defense is a secondary benefit. Since attack trumps defense in this game, Versailles is a top choice because of the health boost it provides on offense, which increases your attack capability.

I switched from the Taj to versailles.... yes. Versailles is much better.

+10%hp. Your troop survival rate goes up. Hance they can deal more damage. You also cut on cost and lead time to build troops. And defensive area speed reduction Vs 2% out of what...200k? That is just 4k. And a random merc every 24hrs.

I think the choice is clear cut.
