Building event fairness

I think you should consider hos the building discount events affect the game.

The game should be about strategy and I find these events unfair and affect the gameplay in a negative way. Take the last factory/aitstripevent. I global age without any discount one had to collect 210.000/200.000 oil. This task is not easy. So a player who decided that it would benefit their style of playing could decide to go for it and gain a technological advantage. Then this event shows up and virtually whipes out this players "hard work", since now "everybody" can easily get these buildings.
I find it unfair and in turn every sensible player now plays the game by trying to secure that every workers is free and stockpiles full when one estimates its about time for a new building event. It would be foolish to try to get the building upgrades before an event since it's so much easier when the cost is half or less.

So to me it seems these events make all follow the same strategy chasing events. Why would one work to get an expensive building upgrade when the discount has not past? Or why would anyone risk putting all their workers at work upgrading a building if there 8 hours laters comes an event where huge discounts are given to other types of buildings? If you already have these buildings you're being punished. If your workers are busy you're being punished.

So I find events a very good thing. The current design I find troublesome. Why not make "similar" events that everybody could use to persue a strategy of their choosing and not the one you select? Instead of specific building discounts I would presume you could achieve the same thing by boosting loot, production, reduced building time, an extra house for a month or similar. Then one could still always go for what they want and not running the risk of working hard to get a specific building just to watch it being easy to get for everybody.

The current layout to me changes the gameplay into Russian Roulette. You might by blind luck time everything perfectly to an event. On the other hand you might do the opposite and completely miss out by dumping all your workers and resources onto new upgrades minutes before.

Personally I find the events where you have to work / win stuff more interesting and stil they should be able to be support getting buildings more easily but in a way to maintain fairness and less randomness.

I Agree, Think you are spot on.

The best way to get full value of an event with reduced cost, is not to play the game
just farm ressource and then wait til a new event with recued cost starts.
at some point I will forget the game and not come back.

I think with this event, Nexon is making player play less.
the other event where you are going to do something are nice and make player play a bit more to get that bonus
